I stood in front of the mysterious man."You worthless piece of shit!" He spat menacingly.
His voice was gruff, strong, and aged. His breath smelled strongly of vodka; the man's hair was wild across his face obstructing his image. He swung his arm and-
I jolted awake sitting up quickly placing my head into my hands. I swung my legs over the side of the bed racking my fingers through my damp hair.
I headed down stairs my boots thudding loudly on the wooden stair case. My dad stood there scraping scrambled eggs onto a plate before placing some bacon and toast on it.
"Morning son." I looked up at his stubble that cast a dark shadow on his face. I mumbled back a quick morning before munching on my toast. "So, I was thinking about going out with my friends after work today-"
"And you won't be back until later," I said holding my hands up making air quotes. Honestly if he wants to go out with his friends, by all means go I don't care. "Look dad, I would sit here and do this." I said waving my hands between us; whatever this is. "But I have school."
I stepped into the classroom just before the warning bell rung.
"Cutting it a little short there aren't we Mr.Peters?" I glanced back at Mr.Smith smirking before heading to my seat in the back. We have this unspoken hatred for each other. Ever since I walked in late this one time and he tried to lecture the entire class on being punctual. From that day forward he's hated me. Oh and I might've told him where he could shove that speech. "Today we will be having a new student join us. I'm not sure when, but welcome them with open arms."
Pfft my arms will be open alright. Mr.Smith is a short pudgy man with thinning hair. His cheeks are rosy like Santa clause and his fingers look like mini sausage links. In the middle of his lecture a knock sounded at the door. Everyone seemed on edge turning their gazes towards the door in anticipation. Except for me I could really care less on what hopeless fuck walked in that door.
"Class this is your new classmate, welcome her." Oh so it's a female?Mr.Smith stretched out his hand beckoning the new girl in.
She's probably ugly if she hasn't walked in yet. She walked inside standing next to Mr.Clause looking towards the ground. But from here I can see her face and from what I can see she's beautiful.
With every step she took her curly hair swayed. Her light brown skin looked smooth. Her eyes were large pools of warm brown. She was tall for a girl I would say about five nine; her shirt quoted the movie 'Mean Girls'. Not that I would know or anything.
"Hi, my name is Dawn Richards... Umm I'm not really sure what else to say," She chuckled nervously.
"How about you tell us your age, what area you moved to, and where you're residing currently." Mr. Smith said grinning like the Cheshire Cat. If you ask me I'd say he's a pedophile. He looks happier than most of the male population that she lucked up in this class.
"Okay, well I'm seventeen I came from Washington and of course now I'm here." She said waving her hands around lamely. "My parents and I moved into our new home in Pine Ridge yesterday and so far I'm enjoying my new life here." She shrugged.
Low whistles echoed around the class; seeing as she did live in Pine Ridge. Girls stared at her enviously and in awe. Guys stared at her like she was a piece of meat. I on the other hand rolled my eyes and leaned back in my chair casually.
"Well miss..."
"Richards."
"Ahh yes Miss Richards. You can take a seat by my star pupil Mr. Peters."
I watched her as she drug her feet towards the empty desk. Her big brown eyes alarmed. I noticed how she would look at me every now and then when she thought I wasn't looking. It started to irritate me just a little. Most of the same girls that have their ankles around their heads on Sunday try to seduce me on Monday. It's tiring being 'The mysterious Adrien Peters.'
"Alright class time for group work." Do you know that moment where you think you can pick your own partner until your teachers says 'now' and a sentence after? Well that's exactly what happened. I turned to my left like Mr. Smith instructed and wow just my luck there's someone in the desk to my left now.
Dawn Richards
