nick leaned in and...

suddenly there was the sound of a discord call. nick leaned back. i looked over to his computer.

on the screen was a call from clay and george. nick got up slowly and walked over to his computer. he answered the call.

"hey sapnap!" i heard a guy say loudly.

"hi dream." nick said.

"you got time to play minecraft with us on my stream?" i heard another voice say. that must be george.

"uh," nick looked back at me. "not right now. i'm a lil bit busy with," he looked around. "schoolwork." he said.

"but, it's saturday." 'dream' said. i guessed that must be clay.

"uh, yeah, they really loaded me up this weekend, i guess." he said.

nick looked back at me. he mouthed 'i'm sorry'.

i shrugged my shoulders and mouthed back 'it's ok'.

"i'll call you guys later. after i finish." he said.

"alright see ya later." clay said.

"bye." george said before nick hung up.

"i'm sorry about that." nick said. "they just call whenever." he followed.

"it's fine." i said.

we were silent for a second.

"sapnap, huh?" i said with a small giggle.

"yeah, uh, clay helped me pick it out. it's just pandas backwards with the d flipped." nick replied.

"why pandas?" i asked.

"my old gamertag was PandasCanPVP and clay called me pandas all the time so we just flipped it but sadnap was taken so we flipped the d." he said.

"pandas." i said. "that's pretty cute." i said with a smile. 

his face started to get red. i looked at the clock. it was 9:48.

"well, uh, i should get home." i said.

i got up and walked to the door. i got ready to open it.

"hey. again, i'm so sorry about them calling. i haven't told them about you yet so they didn't know." he said. he rubbed the back of his neck.

"it's ok. i'll talk to you later." i said as i closed the door.

he was going to kiss me.

i walked back to my dorm and went inside.

nick's pov

god dammit.

why did they have to call right then.

i waited about 10 more minutes and called them again.

"hey guys." i said.

"hi." george replied.

"hey sapnap. you get done with your schoolwork?" clay asked me.

"uh yeah. i did." i said.

i hoped onto minecraft with them.

we played for almost an hour while george streamed.

after the stream, george said he was gonna go. clay and i said bye.

"are you streaming?" i asked clay.

"no. i'm not." he replied.

"oh, well, uh, earlier, you guys called at just about the worst time. and i wasn't doing schoolwork." i said.

"oh. i'm sorry." he said.

"it's fine." i replied.

"what were you doing?" he asked."

"well, uh, i had a friend over." i said.

"a girl?" clay asked.

"n-" i started to say, but he cut me off.

"i knew it!" he yelled.

"knew what?" i asked.

"you were with a girl!" he loudly said.

"how do you know?" i asked.

"nick. i've known you long enough to know when you are lying even when i can't see you." he said.

"fine. i was with a girl." i said.

"and...?" he asked.

"and we had just got back from dinner and a movie and i was going to kiss her when you guys called." i said.

"aw, man, i'm sorry." he said.

"it's fine." i said. "well, i'm gonna go. talk to you later."

"see ya." he replied.

i left the call. i walked over to my bed and sat down.

i can't stop thinking about her.
