The Lonely Girl

Once upon a time there was a little girl

She lived in a cabin in the forest with her grandfather

They were isolated from the others

They both lived in their tiny world

Her grandfather would hunt during the day

and gather wood during the night

Every day he get up early and return late

So she barely got to see him in her life

Because when she woke up he was already gone

And didn't come back until she has gone to bed

So alone in the woods, she was alone until dawn

She stay quietly at their small shed

Even then,days were gentle

She never felt hungry or cold

However there was something, a secret

A secret she silently hold

During the day the sun shined between the leaves of the trees

The forest was beautifully painted by the greens and full of sound of the animals all acrossed

However when the dawn have fallen

All the charm and beauty of the forest was lost

At night she closed all the doors and curtains

And then frightened, heard the howling of the wolves

The sound of their howls made her heart tremble

Feeling as if her heart would crumble

Some nights they didn't howl

Some others the howl rose

Sometimes they seemed to be very far

And others too close

But she knew that as long she stay inside she won't feel pain

She only had to do that

Stay inside the house and sleep until the sun came out again

Every night the same routine repeated

But no matter how many times she did the same

She never could get used to it

Every time the howling of the wolves felt more distressing, more anguishing

Until one night she didn't hear a howl, but instead something totally different, crying

Hearing an animal crying made guilt bloom in her heart

"Maybe it's a wounded dog?" she thought

Believing that thought she got out from the sheets

She walked towards the door and unlocked the lock

opening it to let in the supposed dog

She opened it with a heart full of joy

smiling as she thought she had finally found someone to make her company

But her smile didn't last long

And her soul became heavy

Because as soon as she opened the door fully

She saw a vicious wolf standing in front of the girl

And with a single leap,

It Ate Her
