"Can I just be rich already?" Dira mumbled while sitting in the back of her 9:25A.M class drifting away into a daydream.
"Now your 10 page papers are due next week Wednesday, I hope you guys are done or just about." Professor Yin went on lecturing the class of half asleep students.Dira studied aviation because her father was a pilot and she wanted to follow in his footsteps. She looked up to her father since she never met her mom. She always thought he made making money look so easy. In the end she wanted to get paid get good cash to travel the world. Little did she knew there is alot of hard school work at first.
"Miss. Phillips what about you?" Professor Yin asked putting her on the spot in front of the whole class.
"Yeah sure" Dira answered not really paying attention and catching the reason for the question.
"Well today is a very short class so everyone can have some spare time to do some editing and revising for your papers. They should be absolutely perfect with all the time you guys have. Everyone have a nice weekend and see you next class." Professor Yin said while everyone started to pack up and leave. "Except you Miss Phillips I would like to have a word with you."
Dira throw her head back and rolled her eyes because she already knew what the content of the conversation was going to be. She checked her shattered Samsung Galaxy 3 to see no missed calls, no unread messages, and notifications from the Kim K game. When everyone exit the class room she picked up her silver studded gray cross purse she bought from Forever 21 and her binder then sat in the chair Professsor Yin placed next to her desk for Dira to sit in.
"Let me guess, I can do better than I am doing. I shouldn't waste an education I am paying for." Dira said as sarcastically as possible.
"If you can word what I am going to say verbatim like that, then that proves you know better. Please don't just catch an attitude whenever someone is trying to tell you something for your own good." Professor Yin said hoping once again for the millionth time that she is getting somewhere with her.
"Look, I am doing the best I can." Dira said getting even more irritated with her.
"No, Dira I see more potential in you. You can't expect to everything to be handed to you, you have to work for it and besides how far are you in your paper."
"I am finished" Dira lied grabbing her binder getting up from the chair. "And I'm finished with this conversation" she said storming out before Professor Yin can say anything. All she did was let out a sigh.
As Dira walk to the parking lot all she could think of was giving up on school. Even though she wanted to be a pilot she was annoyed of sitting in the classes. She was annoyed of the school work. She just wanted to become a pilot without going through any of this. She registered to Florida Memorial University because her dad insisted she go to school first and she refuse to let her dad down no matter how much she was totally against it.
"Dira!" a random voice called from behind. She turned around to see a fine dark chocolate about 6'3 boy walking up to her. "How does this fine ass boy know me?" she thought.
"Uh hi" she said in a confused voice
"You probably don't remember me. I would expect that" he said laughing shaking his head "Well I'm Ty, I went to middle school with you."
"Ty? Ty? Eh, not really ringing a bell." She said with a little smirk on her face.
"Tyrone Peters, the one who always asked to cheat off your paper in math class 7th and 8th grade year."
"Oh my gosh! Hey!" She said pretending to be happy to see him giving him a hug. She always hated him after he publically humiliated their 8th grade year. She had this huge crush on him but he would only flirt with her when he needed to answers. He cheated off of her for the FCAT, and she pass and he didn't so he told everyone her parents did voodoo making everyone scorn her.
