A small Distraction Part-1

Days seemed like years, the holidays without her felt like hell.

I was choking on my own tears! weeping like a little girl! everyday. As people would say, we would never know the value of something unless it's lost. I had a killing rage on Suriya! I couldn't even go to my house! Every place reminded her to me! I kept imagining how it would have been if she had proposed to me. Yes. She was planning on doing that, I fucked up! I cursed myself.

Its been months.

Still fighting? Shoaib texted me!

She is not talking to me. I replied!

It will be fine. Shall I ask Malini or Joel to talk to her? Shoaib said.

No! I texted back and threw the phone aside.

But still, she checked on me through my mom!

She used to send chocolates through her!

No! would be her reply every time.

What happened to you two? my Mom would ask sometimes.

Maybe a new semester could heal everything I thought.

3rd year began! It was a tough semester!

The elective paper "DSP" fucked us all!

The endless special classes were a headache!

Malini, Harini, or even Preethi avoided me! because they thought I ditched Ria! They tried to help me.

When I told what happened but nothing worked! I hated it!

Ria stopped coming to college on her birthdays! I brought her favorite book! "Let it snow" by John Green and sent it as a gift through my mom! Mom was okay about it! Even my mom tried talking about me to Ria! All she did was cry! that's what my mom said!

I have a cruel idea? It can help? Aravind patted me!

What?, are we gonna kill Suriya? Said Siddharth.

Come on man! our department is not cursed without girls! I agree! Ria is freaking hot "Helen of Troy!" but you should move on! Aravind said!

"Whoa! when did I say anything about moving on? If Rahul can be possessive about Suriya talking to Ria! The same can happen with Ria just saying!" Aravind conceded.

That's stupid! I can't flirt with any girls to make Ria jealous! I said in a strict voice!

We all got enrolled ourselves with android training!

I didn't expect it! They teamed me up with Geetha! Yeah, the girl who had a million gossips around her following.

At first, I was scared to talk to her! She had rumors surrounding her! But she seemed nice! Some people thought Geetha was slutty though, I never thought that way!

Probably because they were jealous of how Pretty she was or that she was way out of anyone's league. She had never been involved with anyone in college. With her milky white complexion, and a sculpted body hardened by hours of gym workout! She looked like an advertisement model! Not to disagree! She's the second prettiest girl to me after Ria! Obviously!

After days of training!

Why team up with me? Ria and you could have reconciled if you had this with her! She said.

Um! I don't know they put us together! I said.

"Heard about you and Ria! So complicated story I guess!" she smiled.

"Totally!" I said.

I saw Ria stare at us talking! I thought What Aravind said is working! But I didn't expect it! She started talking to Suriya! The jealousy thing is not going favorable to both our sides! But I started to like Geetha eventually!

We have totally forgotten about the classes during the android workshop!

How many of you are yet to submit the software testing assignment? professor Rajkumar asked as soon as he entered the class!

"The what?" me, Siddharth, and Tarun looked at each other!

We had totally forgotten about that!

Professor started reading the names of people who didn't submit!

My name was not there!

"Fuck! How's that possible" Kavin said a little too loud! The whole class turned back to look at him!

"The names I read keep standing for the period!" the professor said and continued the class!

Come on Its's Ria right? Joel hit me from behind!

Yes. I nodded!

(I wanted to thank her! But she was looking at the board! Should I throw paper balls at her as she did?)

Look! I told right? She wouldn't give up on you! Siddharth said.

Yeah! screw your plan of moving on."Mr. Aravind", Kavin turned back and flashed his middle finger.

3rd bench! What's going on! professor shouted!

We 3 looked at each other!

Get out! the professor shouted again!

Kavin and Siddharthh took their books to leave!

The whole class laughed! All that mattered to me is I saw Ria laughing too!! She kept looking at me till I walk out of the class!

I'll be fine, I'll do okay even with a bigger gap!
