Cat Cafe (Todoroki x Midoriya) Soft FF

Text Message (Todoroki POV)

"Are you waiting on someone, young man?" a lively old woman seated behind a cash register and some pamphlets about the newest menu items chirped out from behind me. It had been ten minutes since Midoriya had promised to be here, and I had been glaring at the elevator intently since then

"Oh," I responded, "no one really. Just a... um... a friend." I gave her a resolute smile that indicated that I did not want to continue this awkward conversation any further that necessary. 

I was starting to worry that Midoriya  wouldn't show. It was only last night when I had messaged him about the cafe visit. I worried at first that he would think it suspicious of me to have remembered his request from such a long time ago, but I figured that wouldn't matter in the long run. At the time I had thought it such a strange request. He knows I'm not really the type to go out to themed cafes because they're such a tourist attraction and honestly a little tacky. I wondered why he even cared to ask. Was there some hidden reason? There was only one way to find out.

Recently, my feelings for Midoriya have been... changing, to say the least. It's a little confusing, and I had trouble accepting these feelings at first. 

I wanted to try something new, to listen to these feelings instead of hide them away.

I wanted to try him.

As the seconds ticked by, some part of me was... nervous? Why was that? Every time I heard the elevator ding, I'd get a pang in my stomach. I tried not to make it too noticeable, which was easy.

I started to focus more on the walls and decorum of the small third-story cafe I was tucked away in, that was a good way to kill the time. There was an electric heater in the corner of the room by the register that buzzed and hummed, warming the room to the point where my scarf wasn't necessary anymore. The walls were a lovely creamy-white, with wooden accents near door frames and windows that overlooked the street below. There were quaint white planters sitting by window sills, with rich blue flowers toppling over the sides. And the ceilings had fake lanterns draped with ivy hanging on hooks. The place was quite homely, and I could see why some would like to spend their time here. I suddenly became distracted with flicking through the pamphlet that showcased the collection of cats that found their home here.

4:50 pm. I was beginning to doubt that he'd really turn up. I had finished reading the pamphlet and had resorted to chatting with the lady at the counter about how she had found this job. She turned out to be quite a respective and kind woman, but eventually the conversation became forced and I decided to excuse myself. I had grown tired of waiting and finally settled on going outside to wait for Midoriya by the elevator entrance at the first level of the store complex.

I pressed the silver button and waited for the screen to read the number "3". Beep... beep... beep... ding! The metal doors opened and I took a swift step into the elevator- and collided with someone. I looked down and saw a small boy with curly and tousled green hair and a winded, rosy face with sparkling emerald eyes.

Midoriya seemed speechless, his face was so close to mine. In the collision I had felt his warm breath on my neck, my arms almost moved to his sides to keep him that close. We stood in utter silence, staring into each other's eyes in shock for what seemed like an age. Until I could fully collected myself and attempted to kindly apologise for my actions.
