My Hero Academia - A Simple Night

Chapter 1

It was a beautiful Friday afternoon which meant that Class 1-A got to relax and choose an activity for their weekly Friday Night Hangout. Usually, most of the class did their own thing with their groups but tonight Yaoyorozu was throwing a party for everyone's hard work in the week. Even so, Bakugo, Midoriya, Iida, and Kirishima had their own things to do.

Kirishima was out working with Fatgum and Suneater. Iida was taking the evening to visit his family. Midoriya and Bakugo were spending this time training under the supervision of Toshinori Yagi or as he is known, All Might. Additionally, Tokoyami was headed to a rock band concert.

While everyone got ready, Kaminari laid on his bed while on his phone. He wasn't up for a big party that day. He just wanted to kick back and enjoy life. If he was being honest, there was a place he wanted to go but he didn't want to be alone.

He was brought out of his thoughts by knocking on his door. "Come on in."

When the door opened, his short friend, Mineta, stood there. "Hey bro, you sure you don't want to go to Yaoyorozu's party?"

"Yeah, I'm sure!"

"Then maybe I should not go and we can go scope out the ladies in Class 1-B," Mineta spoke wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.

"Sorry, I'm not interested." He replied. "I just want to relax tonight. Maybe some other time, okay?"

Feeling defeated, Mineta sighed. "Fine, another time then." The short boy turned and exited Kaminari's room. 

After Mineta left, Kaminari got out of bed and wandered into the common room. He noticed most of his classmates all dressed up and ready to go but someone was missing from the group. "Mina, have you seen Jiro?"

"She should be around here somewhere." The pink girl replied. "She isn't going to Yaoyorozu's party and it looks like you aren't going either."

"Thank you, I'll look around for her."

After searching for five minutes, he found her outside Heights Alliance. He smiled as he moved to join her. "Hey there; enjoying the breeze out here?"

"Yeah." She looked at him and nodded. "It's quiet and nice."

"I heard you're not going to Yaomomo's party." He stated. "What's up with that?"

"Well, I wasn't feeling much up to it." She replied. "Our classmates are great and I love all of them but I want tonight to be simple."

"You love all of us, including me?"

"Everyone but you, idiot!" She folded her arms. "Anyway, why aren't you getting ready? Are you not going?"

"Actually, Nah. Wasn't up to the big gathering either." He admitted. "Hey, I know, why don't you and I hang out?"

"No thanks."

He frowned at his immediate rejection but instantly smiled at her. "Come on, it'll be fun. We could do anything you want to do! I may not want to do anything spectacular but I don't mind hanging out with you. That way we both have company and we are not alone."

"If you don't want to be alone why didn't you ask Mineta to hang out with you?"

"Believe it or not, sometimes I got to take breaks from hanging out with him." He replied. "To besides, I think hanging out with you is going to be much cooler!"

"Fine, when you put it that way I don't see the harm in hanging out." She answered. "So what is this supposed to be, some sort of date?"

"Huh?" He was confused by her question at first before waving his hands around nervously. "Not really! We're just hanging out."

"Okay. Now, what is it you really wanted us to do?"

"Well, there is this new arcade downtown and I thought it would be pretty cool but I didn't want to go alone." He said. "I know what you are going to say about that but before you turn down that idea know that they have things like Karaoke, Musical Hero Pro-Edition, and other things."

"Okay, let's go."

"See exactly as I thou-... wait, you want to go?" He was shocked by her acceptance. Inside he was feeling all of his electricity surging in excitement.

"I don't see why not." She smiled softly. "It's not like it's a date or we are a couple. It sounds like a cool place for friends to hang out."

"True." He acknowledged. "Speaking about couples, our class is filling up with them. Kirishima and Mina; Todoroki and Yaoyorozu..."

"Don't forget Midoriya and Uraraka."

"Yeah!" He smiled. "Can't forget those two."

"Todoroki and Yaoyorozu aren't actually together yet. They're just really close friends."

"They are? That's shocking!" He had his mouth open. "All this time I thought they were in a relationship."

"Speaking of such, why aren't you in a relationship?" She wondered. "Did the girl you like reject you? Or maybe you're scared to ask her out because she's going to reject you due to you being so stupid."

"Gee thanks for the vote of confidence!" He growled. "If you must know, I just never got the right time to ask that girl out." He frowned as she laughed at his response. "What about you, Jiro? Don't you have someone you're interested in? Are you too shy to tell him how you feel?"

Feeling defensive, she brought her earphone jacks up to his face. These tiny jacks were enough to scare him off. "Drop it, okay?"

He nodded nervously. "Okay, okay."

"Anyway, if we are going out, we should go get ready to leave." She voiced. "Meet you here in half-hour. Don't be late!"

"Got it!"

Shortly after, Kaminari was ready and waiting on Jiro. He didn't have to wait long. She was sporting her signature civilian clothes.

"Ready to go?" She asked as she smiled.

"You bet!" He returned a smile to her. "Let's get going and make our simple night special!"
