My Hero Academia - A Simple Night

Chapter 5

Kaminari woke up to see Jiro sleeping next to his hospital bed. Her head rested on his chest and her body was seated in a hard chair. As he began to hold up she yawned and started to stretch. "Jiro?"

"Hey, morning." She smiled softly. "You're awake!" Her face slowly turned sad. "Don't you scare me like that again." Tears formed in her eyes as she wrapped her arms around him. "You are so stupid sometimes!"

"Sorry." He chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "But, now we are safe."

"Did you mean what you said back there?" Her voice was in a whisper as she pulled away from him.

"What do you mean?" He gave her a confused look. "I don't remember much other than pushing myself past my limit to make sure that we escape."

She frowned, "Oh, I see. Never mind then. It wasn't that important."

The doctor walked in and smiled as he looked down at his clipboard. "Denki Kaminari looks like you are free to go. Just make sure to limit how much you use your quirk in the next couple of days as your body still needs time to recover."

"You got it!" He smiled brightly.

"It's time to go home." She smiled. "The others heard about what happened and they must be extremely worried."

"I guess you're right." He replied while hopping out of bed. "Well, let's get going."

After leaving the hospital, Jiro walked quietly next to Kaminari. She was happy that he was alright, even if he didn't remember what he confessed. "Hey, umm, you were really cool back there when you went overboard."

"Thanks!" He smiled brightly. "I was so focused that I pushed through it all."

"For the record," she started while having her earphone jacks touch each other due to her embarrassment. She looked away from him as she spoke. "What you said back there was really sweet and if you were being serious, I like you too."

"Huh?" He was confused by her words. "What do you mean by that?"

"That I like you, Kaminari, even if you're an idiot."

"Like Like me like me?"

She nodded shyly while blushing.

That's when it flashed on him. He suddenly remembered all that he said while overcharging his abilities. His face instantly turned as red as his friend, Kirishima's, hair. "About that...... I wasn't thinking about what I was saying. The adrenaline rush I had for my will to protect you made me move and speak without thinking. I meant every word as it came from my heart and I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable."

She blushed before pulling him into her arms. "Sometimes you can be sweet even if you're a stupid idiot."

"You're not mad?" He asked as his arms wrapped around her.

"No, I am not." She smiled before kissing him on the cheek. "I'm serious about scaring me. Don't do those stupid things like that anymore."

"I can't promise that," He chuckled. "Especially if it means protecting you." He was smiling brightly as the girl of his dreams was in his arms. "So, uh, Kyoka Jiro, do you want to go out with me?"

"Yes, I would, Denki Kaminari." She smiled as tears formed in her eyes. "Obviously, we're going to have to set some rules. You're going to have to spend less time doing perverted stuff with Mineta."

"Consider it done." He smiled. "Wait do we tell the others when we get back or leave them to wonder?"

"Even if we don't tell them, they'll find out sooner or later."

"You are right!" He laughed. "I guess we could just tell them then."

She nodded as they continued walking to their school. After arriving, their teacher, Shota Aizawa, stopped them.

"I see you have been discharged from the hospital." Aizawa voiced. "Are you two, okay?"

"That we are but I am supposed to take it easy for the next couple of days."

"I would imagine so, Kaminari." He replied. "What you did was reckless and dangerous! You could have gotten yourself and Jiro killed by going past your limit by so much. That being said, you did what you thought was necessary to protect Jiro and for that I commend you."

"Yes sir, it was dangerous but I would do it again to protect Jiro or any of my friends!" Kaminari stood up with a smile. "That's what it means to be a hero; To go beyond! Plus Ultra!"

Aizawa smiled as he thought about just how impactful Izuku Midoriya was to all of his students. This stance Kaminari was taking was something he expected from Midoriya which made him smile. "Very well. You will just have to push your body to be able to handle that limit or else you will constantly have to suffer after. Now go on, the others are waiting for you two."

From the moment they entered the dormitory common room they were swamped by everyone.

"Glad to see you guys are okay!"

Yaoyorozu dashed towards Jiro and hugged her. "You had me extremely worried! I am just glad that you're okay."

"EVERYBODY STAY BACK AND GIVE THEM SOME SPACE!" Iida yelled. "WE WILL ALL HAVE A CHANCE TO SPEAK TO THEM ONCE THEY'RE SETTLED IN."

"We're fine, really," Jiro spoke up. "Thanks to Kaminari."

"Wow really!" A group among them smiled in awe. "Good going, Chargebolt!"

He smiled heroically until a voice called out to him. "Hey, Shockboy! You finally used a massive piece of your quirk without turning stupid and saved the day! Now, listen up! You better train and get to that power again cause I'm going to kill you!"

"Classic Bakugo." Kirishima laughed. "Heard you pushed so hard it made you unconscious and now you need to recover."

Kaminari chuckled before smiling big. "That may be but now I have someone to protect, I'll have no choice but to keep getting stronger."

"What do you mean?" Kirishima asked.

"Well, Jiro and I are dating." He smiled proudly.

"About time!" Mina yelled.

"That's amazing." Yaoyorozu expressed.

"Congratulations." Midoriya praised.

"Yeah, man!" Kirishima gave a thumbs up.

"Totally not fair!" Mineta cried. "I thought you were going to be single and we would get hot girls together!"

"Sorry Mineta but I found my perfect girl!"

Jiro began blushing at his reply. She hugged him and gave him a cheek kiss. "I'm tired so I'm going to bed guys."

After Jiro left, Kaminari was swamped with questions but eventually, he got some space and he took that time to go to his room so he could get some rest.

The next week Kaminari knocked on Jiro's door. They had a special Friday night planned. It was going to be a simple night for them for sure and if anyone was dumb enough to try to kidnap them again, they would feel the power of his electrification. As Kaminari waited outside her dorm lost in thought the door opened revealing a well dressed Jiro.

"You look amazing!" He exclaimed. "Ready for our date?"

"Yes, I am!" She smiled. "Our Simple Night!"
