Chapter 1: Looking for Ruina.

Clay's POV:
It's been a couple of weeks since we defeated the Stone Colossus, and with it, Monstrox. The truth is that I should be happier than I am, but then I stop to think that Ruina is my mother, Merlok my uncle and I a magician, information that Merlok hid from me. On top of that, I'm starting to act a little strange in front of Macy, and it's inevitable.
I remember everything I did when I turned to stone and I feel like any of those monsters from Monstrox. An uncontrollable beast. I guess I still have a lot to learn about being a wizard ...
I have been looking everywhere for my mother for several weeks, but it is as if she has disappeared from the map. She just isn't anywhere. She must be up to something ...

(It is 01:00 in the morning)

Someone puts her hand on my shoulder, pulling me out of my thoughts. I turn to see who may be. Macy.
-"Are you okay, Clay?" She is blushing. Maybe it's hot in here.
-"Yes, I was just a little distracted."
-"Hey" -she looks at me with her beautiful green eyes- "you can tell me any problem you have. What were you thinking?"
-"Nothing."
-"Tell meee!"
-"Okay! I've been having nightmares about when I turned to stone. Also with Ruina..."
She caresses my shoulder gently. I blush.
-"How does it feel to have a nightmare when you only sleep two hours a day?"
-"You don't sleep at all. Nothing at all"-I say rubbing my eyes. I look at myself in the reflection of my shield, and I see that I have impressive dark circles under my eyes, which are obviously not just from today. She stands in front of me.
-"Can I help in any way?"
-"I suppose a nightmare is a nightmare, I doubt we can do much."
-"But I can help you find Ruina. Let me join you in the woods tomorrow. Well, more like in a couple of hours. I'll go to sleep soon."
-"...Fine. But be very careful" - I say uneasy. I get up cautiously.
-'Let's go with the others."
She nooded.

I can't stop looking at her ... She open the door that leads to the Fortrex lounge.
-"Hi Borington," Lance says, and yawns.
-"Good morning" I just say, and go straight to the training room.

Macy's POV:
-"Hey ... is something wrong?" Aaron asks.
-"He's worried about his mother. I'm going with him to the forest to look for her. Maybe if we both go it will be easier to find her"- I reply.
-"I don't understand why you guys give it so much importance. Ruina is alone, and no matter what she's up to, Clay is stronger than her. And we also are with him"- Lance says unconcerned.
-"He is sure that Ruina has something in mind, and he is not usually wrong. I'm not so calm, Lance"- I reply.
-"Well, if you find Ruina, let us know," Axl says. I nooded
-"Go to sleep. Be rested for tomorrow, because I have the feeling that it's going to be an interesting day"- says Merlok. We all agree.
I'm worried about Clay. Since he turned to stone, I haven't been able to stop thinking about him. I remember everything he've been through, and I want to help him at all costs. Every time I'm with Clay I blush and sometimes stutter. I think I'm in love with him, but I don't know if I would be able to tell him.

Clay's POV:
I'm going to train my powers. I want to be able to control them, and if possible, learn the spell that will return my mother to normal. Merlok says I'm learning really fast, but Ruina already knows how to use them perfectly, so I'm not going to settle.
-"Are you going to train your magic at this time?"
-"You know well that I don't go to bed until 3:00, and I have nothing better to do." (I don't know if he goes to bed at that time, but since I do know that he sleeps two hours, from 3:00 to 5:00 is fine)
-"Clay, what's the matter?"
-"You feel it too, right?"
-"What do you mean?"
-"Ruina"- I say, and look into his eyes. -"She has a plan. What I don't know is exactly what she wants."
Merlok sighs.
-"You're right, I felt something. And I also know what she wants" - I look at him surprised -" your power. And now the question is: What does she want it for? It is not to get stronger herself, I know that. There is something else. Or maybe she wants to use it for various things."
-"But ... if she wants my power ... why hasn't she already come for me? After all, I don't know how to use them yet."

I sigh saddened. Merlok looks at me the same way.

I laugh a little. He does the same.
-"Well, let's train a bit. I'm going to teach you the spell "Wake up" I don't know why, but I think you will need it. Follow my instructions ..."
