Chapter 5 | "Thank you for saving me!"

i was eating my cornflakes, it was just a week ago when i used my quirk to destroy robots... and also getting saved cause i was reckless. i was just moving circles in my bowl, feeling bored and then my phone vibrated.

i picked it up and turned it on seeing a message from Nejire, i clicked on it; 'hey, wanna hang out together? we could go to the mall!' after the entrance exam i didn't see any of them and didn't really text them. 

i answered, 'sure.' and stood up after finishing my bowl of cornflakes, i walked to my bedroom to find some better clothes then my pyjamas. i opened my closet and found a hoodie with some black jeans, i brushed my hair and took out my phone. Togata and Amajiki also agreed to Nejire's request and she replied with, 'alright! i'll be there at 10 am!' its now around 9, at least i have a exuse to leave the house.

i walked downstairs and my mom looked a bit confused at me, "i'm going to the mall with some friends." i told her, she smiled at me. "i'm glad to hear that you made friends!" i opened the door and didn't react on my mom's comment, after closing the door i walked towards the mall and putted my hands in my pockets.

i arrived around 9:41 so i was on time, "Hey (Y/N)!" i looked to where the sound was coming from and i saw Togata and Amajiki. they lived closer to the mall so it didn't take them to long to get here, i walked up to them and saw Togata with a big smile, i just smiled back and waved my hand. "hi guys!" i greeted.

"did you get your results yet?" Togata asked, i shook my head. "what about you?" he shook his head to, we just started chatting a bit and Amajiki stayed quiet but listened to our conversation.

"hey lizard!" i froze, i recognized that voice all to well. i turned around and saw Nagari looking annoyed at me, "i told you not to go to UA! are you deaf or something?" i just looked annoyed at him, 'if i wasn't there to help him he'd be crushed by now!' i thought to myself.

he walked closer to me with a angry face, "like i said, you don't deserve to go there." i looked angry at him, "you should be thanking me." i whisper said, "huh? and why whould i do that!" he looked even more annoyed after i said that and i looked at the ground, "you'd be crushed if i didn't help you.." 

"i had everything under control! i didn't need your stupid help!" with that he walked off, i just sighed with relief. "soo.. what was that about?" Togata asked, i could hear the annoyance in his voice. "he's from middle school, he bullied me a lot.." i didn't look Togata in the eyes but i saw that he nodded.

"hey guys!" i turned around to see Nejire run towards us and i waved at her with a smile, "hi Nejire!" she embraced me in a hug, i almost fell but hugged her back. "let's go in!" we all nodded.

i looked around and saw Amajiki behind us, when i made eye contact with him he immediately looked away. i smiled and decided to walk next to him, "Hey, i never got the chance to say thank you." he looked confused still not making eye contact, "th- thank me f- for what?" 

i smiled softly, "thank you for saving me!" he widened his eyes and a small blush crept on his face, i acted like i didn't see it and looked at Nejire and Togata who where talking to each other.

Nejire dragged us to a lot of shops and eventually we found a café where we drank something and ate lunch.

we walked outside, it was getting pretty late. "i had so much fun!" Nejire said, "me to!" i smiled at her, Togata and Amajiki agreed, we waved them goodbye and everyone went home. Nejire and i where going to the same direction for 5 minutes so we chatted a bit.

after saying goodbye and hugging each other i went home, i was tired but i had a lot of fun. i opened the door of my house and waved at my mom, "how was it?" she asked straight away, i never really hanged out with friends. "it was fun!" i looked around, mostly at this time mom was making dinner but she was just sitting on the couch.

"what do we have for dinner?" i asked, she shook her head. "not important, i've been waiting here this whole time till you came back." i looked weird at her, 'is it that weird to have friends?!' she giggled at my confused expression and she pointed at the kitchen table, i looked and saw... a letter from UA?!

i grabbed it and gasped, i walked to the couch and plopped on it. my mother looked nervously at me when i opened it, i saw a small round disc. i placed it on the table and suddenly a screen appeared, "(Y/N) (L/N), i am the principle of UA high." a small mouse like creature said, "you scored high in both the practical as the written exam, you placed second! welcome to UA, you'll become a great hero." 

my mom gasped and hugged me so thightly that i couldn't breathe, "you did it (Y/N)!! im so proud of you!" i smiled at my mom after she lets go, "thanks mom." 

'next week i'll be walking between the walls of UA high, and do my best to become a great hero like my dad once was. i'll make him proud!'
