Angel and I walked into the foyer hand in hand. We both stopped. Angel's parents were there.
They both shared a surprised look and then looked back to us.
"Hey, what are you two doing here?" Angel asked them.
"We need to talk," Aria said.
Angel looked over to Lorenzo, one of the butlers. "Lorenzo, will you please take these upstairs to my room," Angel said, holding up my bags.
"I can," I argued as I took the bags from Angel.
When I reached the top of the stairs, I turned to look down over the foyer. Angel, Aria, and Ace were gone.
I wonder if they hate me for hurting Angel. Maybe they will be upset that he took me back. I realized I didn't really need to bring my clothes.
Angel had bought me all types of clothes during my stay. He bought me anything from casual to sleepwear to cocktail dresses. Any type of clothing you could think of was in the closet. This closet had only my things in it, which was ridiculous.
Nobody needs this many clothes–I thought to myself as I put my clothes away. After I managed to get everything put away, I went downstairs to the living room.
After several minutes, Angel came in, and I heard the front door shut. I stayed sitting on the couch.
"Hey," I said.
"Hey, I have to run out. I'll be back in a couple of hours. I'm sorry, something came up," Angel said.
"Everything okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, everything is fine," he said.
"Are they upset that I'm here?" I asked. I looked down at my hands as I spoke.
"No, why would they be?"
I stood up and closed the distance between us. I wrapped my arms around Angel's waist. "Because of everything that happened and what we went through."
"They're not like that, mami. If I'm happy, they're happy," he murmured.
"Are you happy?"
"How do you even have to ask me that? I couldn't be happier," he said. He gripped my face between his hands and kissed me softly.
I smiled. "Me too," I told him.
"If you're hungry, you can have the maids make you something, or you can order something," he said. "I shouldn't be gone too long."
"Okay," I said.
He pressed his lips to mine once more before he turned and headed out to the foyer.
I headed off to the kitchen to find something to eat. I didn't want to make the maids cook for me. I was used to doing things myself, and that wouldn't change just because my boyfriend was rich.
After I showered, I got dressed in one of the short satin nightgowns that Angel bought me. I pulled the long satin robe over it. It was nearly nine o'clock, and he still wasn't home. I was starting to worry, but I didn't want to call and bother him.
I went out to the balcony to stargaze. It was beautiful out here. You couldn't get this type of view in the city or at the college.
There was a blunt in the ashtray. I pursed my lips as I debated. Ah to hell with it, I'm sure he has plenty of weed. I took it from the ashtray and lit it.
