The kidnapping

There were loud noises and ringing in Kai's ears, it sounded like a bomb went off. "Jackie..?" Kai whispered, Scared. Kai looked over his shoulder and saw Jackie next to her, knocked out. Kai looked round more and saw the front seats, protected by bars.

Kai saw no driver, he saw a shiny object in the front seat so he stuck his arm through the bars and grabbed it. It seemed like some kind of flip-lighter. It was too dark to see properly. "Here goes nothing" he gulped, keeping his voice down. he flipped the lid up and a spark and then a flame set off, Lighting up the van. he looked out the window, Which was blacked out, it was night. he looked around and saw a small gas station. "That's where that monster of a man went." he grumbled angrily.

he sat quiet for a moment thinking of what to do, he looked down at her hand and saw the flip lighter, and an idea popped into his head. he lit the lighter again after it had gone out, and waved it around the window, trying to catch the shop attendants attention. he started crying, and his arm was getting weaker. "JACKIE!!"

he yelled, trying to wake her up. Jackie's eyes began to open, and she looked around confused. "Where are we..?" Jackie said while rubbing her eyes. While Kai explained the situation Jackie's eyes started to water. "I Don't think the lighter is going to work Kai.." Kai started crying harder and harder and just slumped onto the floor of the van, wheezing and shaking. he was having a panic attack.

Jackie walked over to Kai who was still slumped on the floor, And pulled out a bottle of water and started splashing it on his face trying to stay calm. Kai had calmed down but was still shaking. She stood there for a moment, still looking at the shaking and rocking Kai. "Okay okay, im gonna try something."

Jackie walked over to the window with her pen-knife out. "Get away from the window." Jackie looked back down at Kai, who swiftly shuffles to the left. Jackie lifted her hand high, where the screw was still out from where she jabbed the man. She slammed it down on the window. A Small crack appeared, "What are you d-doing?"

Kai had almost calmed fully down now, looking up at Jackie. She slammed the tool down again, a bigger crack appeared. She did it again. And again. "Finally.. progress." Jackie said, whilst looking at the hole in the glass. She did it one more time and.. SMASH!

It finally shattered. Kai stood up, and lit the lighter, waving it around to catch Anyones attention. The shop attendant finally looked over, and immediately came to investigate, the police on the phone already. Jackie stood back in surprise the plan worked, and stepped on some glass by accident. She was too happy to notice and waved the woman down, Smiling wide.

Kai looked down at Jackie's feet "Jackie your fee-" Kai got interrupted by the woman, who came running over with her phone in one hand with the police on the line. "Are you two.. uhh.. Kiddos okay?!" The woman said, Looking Kai up and down, trying to analyse them. "Help.. I... we..... us.... Man.... Please."

Jackie spluttered, trying to find words. Kai was behind Jackie, in the shadows with his hood up. For context, Kai was wearing a black hoodie, the zipper un-done. It was black, with a hood and purple patches sown on with white string. Suddenly they both heard sirens, And blue and red flashing lights. While they were looking out the window at the police arriving, Jackie heard something from behind them. As she turned around what she saw left her speechless. In a panic, all she could do was tap on Kai's shoulder.

he winced seeing he had a huge bruise on his shoulder. "What is it Jackie?" Kai looked over his shoulder, and immediately jumped and hid behind Jackie in a panic. Jackie stepped towards a scruffy looking boy, with broken glasses, who was staring back at them. He looked confused and dazed, It looked like he just woke up. "U-Uh.. W-Who are Y-You?" Kai stuttered, Clinging to Jackie's arm. Jackie walked towards the boy, holding her pen-knife with the knife out, It looked like she was unsure of her next move.

"STAY BACK!" The boy looked fine but a glimpse of terror was shining through. Before they could finish their conversation, the door of the van opened up and they saw a police man standing in front of them. He reached his hand out as it to tell them to step out of the vehicle. Kai picked up his lighter, Jackie understanding what he was thinking, gathered her backpack and stuff and stepped out. They instantly made a dash into the woods, running from the police.

Kai and Jackie made it into some woods, and Jackie fell over a log, Looking back to see if anyone was following them. Kai bent down and grabbed Jackie's hand and yanked her up, "Thanks" Jackie said puffing, they continued running until They couldn't hear the sirens any more, They were deep DEEP into the forest.

It was dark out, and both of them were exhausted from running for so long. While they were both sitting on a nearby fallen tree, "Okay, we're gonna have to stay here for a bit." Jackie said, awkwardly. Kai didn't reply, and got out his lighter and tried to light a few leaves and branches, but he couldn't so Jackie helped him. They fell asleep in front of the warm fire, Jackie began talking in her sleep and Kai was having a nightmare, and so-forth having a sleep... attack? Panic-sleep-attack? Whatever.

Jackie sprung up to the sound of footsteps, it was dawn out, Jackie was looking around trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. She turned around and once again saw the scruffy boy standing there, he flinched, holding a sharp branch out to defend himself.
