Chapter 10: Start of Golden Week

I notice Takeda sensei and Kiyoko standing in front of the door that lead to the hallways from the dining room, and I walk towards them. I look at the hallway and find Tanaka and Noya on the floor. Tanaka looked at Kiyoko with pure joy, but Noya didn't seem to be sharing the same sentiments.

"Uhh... what's happening?" I ask.

Noya's eyes land on me, and his face contorted into a look that mimicked Tanaka's. "(n/n)-chan! My love!"

"O...kay, I'll just go back to preparing the plates..." I awkwardly say as I back out of the scene.

A few minutes later, everyone gathered in the dining room for dinner, and we happily ate as we chat amongst ourselves after a long and tiring day.

"Do you think those two found out that we'll be staying at your house since it's nearby?" I ask Kiyoko, nodding my head in Tanaka and Noya's direction.

"That's probably the reason they were so down earlier," she replies.

"Hmm, makes sense." I shove a spoonful in my mouth. "Also, thanks for letting me stay over, Kiyoko san," I thank her after I swallowed my food.

"No problem." She throws me a warm smile. "I'm quite excited about it myself. It's like having a slumber party for one week."

"With volleyball practices in between," I add. "I'm quite excited for the practices this week. Maybe Hinata kun and Kageyama kun will invent another crazy attack they can use."

In front of us, coach Ukai laughs. "That would be a blessing for a team like Karasuno if they want to beat a team like Nekoma."

"Nekoma's team is really strong right?" I ask.

"Yes," Takeda sensei answers from beside coach Ukai. "Back then, Karasuno and Nekoma would do a lot of practice matches against each other, due to the past coaches' friendly rivalry with each other. The practice matches stopped when the two coaches retired around two years ago, but I heard that Nekoma's coach returned from retirement, so I quickly grabbed the chance to book a practice match with them."

I listened to Takeda sensei intently, becoming interested in Karasuno's history with Nekoma, and both schools' history in the volleyball tournaments that took place way before.

Throughout dinners, I learned more about volleyball and Karasuno's boys' volleyball club's history from both coach Ukai, and Takeda sensei.

A while later, when Kiyoko and I finished eating dinner, I decided to start washing the dishes while Kiyoko gave the other members their seconds.

The ones who were finished with dinner would give me their plates and utensils, and go out to prepare to take a bath. When Tsukishima and Yamaguchi came to me with some food still left on their plates, I lightly scolded them for wasting food and jokingly threatened to cry about how they didn't like my cooking if they didn't finish their food.

Surprisingly enough, Tsukishima looked a little panicked, and the two of them actually took my joke seriously. They left without giving me their plates and came back with their plates almost clean.

Not too long after that, Suga came to me with a look that practically said, "what did you do to Tsukishima and Yamaguchi?"

My eyes widened and I couldn't stop a smile from forming on lips. "Um... what did they do...?"

"They literally went around asking for help in finishing their food," was Suga's immediate answer, and I could tell he was holding back a smile. "They had no choice but to ask for Kageyama and Hinata's help. Tsukishima was very reluctant about it but he actually asked for their help himself."
