19| The Mansion

Adam's house was a modern day mansion. It stretched so wide that I couldn't take a picture of the whole building in a single shot of my android camera.

"This is my butler," he said, introducing me to a short, stout, bald-headed man who looked to be in his forties. "Mr. Green."

"Hi," I greeted. Mr. Green only nodded in response. I guessed he'd been the butler for so long he no longer cared for niceties.

"He's been here for ages," Adam said, when the butler was out of earshot.

I was right.

"Let's go to my room." Adam didn't wait for me to set down my backpack or take off my coat, he just began sauntering down a wide, spiral staircase.

I hurried to catch up with him. This house was the kind of place you could get lost.

Somehow, his bedroom was even bigger than the kitchen. There were chandeliers that hung from the ceiling, a marble desk and a wide closet that was bigger than my bedroom. The closet was filled with clothes of course, but that wasn't all--a widescreen tv set hid just behind the first set of clothes.

"Wow." My voice echoed as I passed by his closet and glanced at his desk.

There were scattered papers all over his desk and a closer look told me they were stories. On top of the papers, lay the painting for Midsummer Night's Eve.

The work he'd done on the painting was so dark and beautiful, I couldn't help but to be reminded of BlackLight_00. The dark forest looked just like the one in Demon In The Woods. There was a phrase written on the bottom, right hand corner of the painting: "Into the night, whispers the wind: wander lonely as the clouds."
