Chapter 3 : The Edge

"This is the end, this our ending" Daisy whispered, "I never thought that we will end up like this," she added.

It's been months but they were still the same. Changes were still the same, nothing's improving between them and it's getting worse every day. "Happiness isn't the basis of love, right?" Daisy asked. "Yeah," Zayne replied tepidly. The spark just vanished in just a snap. Daisy started to feel like she is worthless. But she still continued to walk through the path where they used to walk together. She was holding to his promise that he will never hurt her. However, Zayne was slowly walking away and he was starting to relinquish the love that they had. He loved her but he can't stand to fight for her.

After a week, they just became a total stranger. They just pass through each other. No words. No signs. Just like nothing has ever happened.

Zayne Plaemir started to put himself together and continue his own life while Daisy is still hurting and trying to find where she could stop and start a new beginning. She devoted herself to her beloved Zayne but all their dreams and plans just faded away. It hurt her badly and it just led her to her lost world likewise. But this time, she promised herself that she will never trust anyone easily anymore. She'll protect her heart from being broken again. They separated paths without any conversation.

"I have loved you too much, I forgot how to love myself," Daisy confessed to herself. "Neither you nor I wanted us to end up like this, but this might be our fate mi amór. I never regret that I took the risk for us. I love you more than you'll ever know", she added as she looks at their photos together.

Zayne speaks through his mind while looking at Daisy from afar saying, "Forgive me if we ended up like this. Forgive me if I broke my promise. I still love you but I... I can't endure seeing you cry. I love you to the moon and back Daisy Zealand. I am truly sorry."

They were still holding back with all the things that they had, but they both chose to let go. Zayne did it because he can't continue hurting Daisy and being numb. Daisy did it because she loved him too much and she doesn't want to force him to continue the battle where he already surrendered a long time ago. The love that they had, the foundation that they built did not collapse but it became weaker. They both know that if they keep each other in their arms, that love might exist just because they got used to it but they don't mean it anymore. "Someday, we will be brought back together by our own destiny", Daisy told the sky while thinking of Zayne. "God knows how much I love you, someday, I will take you back. And I will never let you go ever again. It was all my fault. I changed wherein, even I had no idea how it happened and why. But I am pretty sure that my changes were the reason why you also changed", Zayne whispered while crying at the darkest corner of the room. He didn't want to leave her but he needed to so that they can both breathe and think. They became too exhausted. The spark just vanished and the excitement had just been gone.

They even tried to fix everything once again before they parted ways but then, they still ended up wounded without any words. Daisy knew that she had the greatest fault between the two of them. She was the reason why Zayne suddenly became cold and chose to go away. She loved him but she isn't perfect. She make dumb mistakes and stupid decisions. She was truly in love with him but he never chose to let her in. He just love her for who she is. But that love already faded. He started to find things that connects with her imperfections and shortcomings. She tried and tried and tried but she keeps on failing over and over again.

Daisy's message:
"Zayne, I love you and I will always love you. You became more than just a partner to me. Thank you for loving me. Someday, if I could hold you back again? I will never let you go. I will find myself and make new memories. I'll stand on my own and open a new chapter all by myself. But you? You will always be here, inside my heart. My mind might forget you but my heart will never forget you. Letting go of the person whom you wanted to spend the rest of your life with is the hardest decision that anyone will ever make, and I love you enough to let you go. Thank you for everything. I love you mi amór. I will miss you."
