We left the Academy after we had breakfast. Franco and Jessie both have their own car so we, the girls, have to split up so no one would be alone during the trip. I'm not really sure why they have to be in separate cars when one can already accommodate all of us.

Our destination is the Mt. Grande in the west. They said Jessie will have to take a different route because he has to meet up with his father. Ahh. So this is why we're bringing two cars. I think. But doesn't Franco want to join him. Of course, Lisie chose Franco. I'm starting to think these two secretly have a thing.

Chloe and Jessie don't talk much and we don't know why so she chose Franco's and I was stuck with Jessie during the first part of the trip. I thought it was going to be awkward but luckily, it wasn't. We talked about almost everything; how Franco and Lisie seem to have a thing; how beautiful Labyrinth is; we never ran out of topic.

Jessie seemed really nice. When I asked him if I should just stay in the car when he meeys his father, he shook his head. "Nope, you're coming with me." He said and smiled. We met at a diner.

His father was really nice. His name is Jansen and he is the only one left in his family. Jessie said they haven't seen each other for a long time and this is the only chance he could talk to him because his father works for the Council and they never get the right day offs that they deserve.

I was actually nervous the whole time after finding out that he is a Council member. "My father hates them like we do." Jessie clarified. Jansen greeted me with a smile. We introduced ourselves and Jessie and Jansen catch up with each other. I just sat next to Jessie, listening, until he finally turns his attention to me. Jessie told him about my interest in the Council, so he told me to ask away.

"I was wondering how the Council was capable of watching over us." I said.

"Well, I'm one of the watchers of the dark magicians. We use the dark link among us to find out the spells used. Light uses the light link." He explained.

"Oh, so there is a link?" I asked. "Yes, it forms the division." He added. "Uhm, what about the Legacies before?" I asked, not trying to look very obvious. "Well, they are a combination of light and dark so yup."

After we finished our meal, we said good bye and left. "You'd make a fine wife for my kid." I can't forget what he told me before I entered the car. "I'm sorry about that." Jessie said. "So, this link, is it permanent?" I asked. "I heard it's not... I don't know." He answered.

We were able to reach Mt. Grande before sundown and apparently, the rest have already set up tents. Ohh, they never told me we're having camping.

Jessie and Franco volunteered to buy dinner at the nearest fast food place. Yep, we're such a grown up. I told Lisie everything that we talked about in the diner.

"W—why don't we do something about it?" Lisie said.

After a few minutes, the boys finally returned. We continued talking; Jessie and Franco are now involved in the conversation as we eat our dinner.

"I think you're right." Chloe agreed.

"But how, I thought the link is permanent?" I asked.

"Nope, I heard a rumor that Henry Valle succeeded in finding a spell to destroy the division." Chloe said. As soon as I hear my father's name, my skin starts to shiver.

"How did you know this?" Franco asked.

"Well, please don't get mad at me but my father is a Lost and he works for the Nerida. He heard them talking one night so he told my mom, a light magician, all about it; that the Nerida found a notebook containing all Henry Valle's thoughts; a journal I guess. But it was stolen right after they found it." She continued.
