Chapter 3 - It's probably Inappropriate to Hog the Sun All to Yourself

Whenever Kageyama saw Hinata hanging around with other guys besides him, he'd always do things like loop his arm around her neck or glare at any guys who would even lay their nail on her head.  Hinata took notice of that, sometimes teasing Kageyama or she would genuinely get flustered at some of his actions, whenever Kageyama would come up behind her; it turned from linking his arm over her neck to her waist she would turn tomato red turning around to glare at Kageyama, mouthing a "what the heck are you doing?!"  Kageyama would stare back not even batting an eyelash, instead of letting her go he would pull her even closer, Hinata would gasp going even redder, making a defeated sigh she would push him away, poking his ribs and mumbling "stupid baka-yama" while walking away, she would turn around and see Kageyama stroking his ribs, eyes squinting, sometimes Hinata would make a soft chuckle and skip away. sometimes.

the sun was scorching and shining down on the both of them, it was probably the hottest day they've had in a while, of course, Kageyama took a disliking to the sun he just hated having to look up and squint, heat rising to his face but Hinata thought otherwise she loved the sun never mind that, she was the sun, Hinata liked having the summer's breeze whisking along her skin, liked putting her hand up trying to make shadow puppets along the walls, liked seeing the different shades of colours painting the sky when the sun was going down, she just liked summer in general.
Before Kageyama had different feelings about summer when he was younger, he wouldn't say he liked summer but remembering the day he met Hinata when she was a little girl, he just couldn't stop a soft smile creeping up his face.

Kageyama couldn't help drift his eyes along her body, no not her head— You know what I mean.
Hinata's shirt was sticking to her body making her chest look larger, Kageyama groaned covering his mouth and flinching away 

"oi Kageyama, my eyes are up here?" she croaked, Kageyama looked back at her, blush dusting along his cheek, Hinata sighed dropping her chin into her hand while crossing her legs.

"What's up with you being all touchy? You never did this last year or the year before..." quirking her brow and smirking, Kageyama almost choked on his water, eyes darting everywhere to look at anything but Hinata. Kageyama had to think of something to retaliate, so he stopped his shitty pining feelings and blurted back.

"Just making sure people know that you're mine."

Hinata jerked up; her eyes wide before Kageyama could turn around to see Hinata's reaction. Hinata stood up, dropping her popsicle on the ground lips quivering and going red.

"YOU! you- you stupid—" the rest of her sentence was cut short as she fumbled back down to her knees covering her face and finishing the rest of her sentence in a mumble. 

"dumbass. Dumbass Kageyama." Kageyama rushed to her side to ask if she was ok, Hinata wasn't answering and hid her face to endure the embarrassment. Kageyama didn't really understand what made Hinata curl up into a blushing mess but if it was something he said before, making Hinata like this. It was 100% worth it.

"You still not ready to date anyone yet?" The question popped up into Kageyama's head, it's been 2 years since Hinata would always rush up to Kageyama venting off her problems with her boyfriends, sorry, ex-boyfriends,

Hinata scoffed "what's so good about dating? Guys will just fuck you over and leave you when you have no use to them" 

Kageyama wasn't surprised when Hinata swore, Hinata would always get uncomfortable or frustrated when girls or boys would bring up dating whenever they talked to her, Kageyama was about to apologise until Hinata mumbled.

"Why do you wanna know? You asking because you wanna date me?" she looked up and eyed him, staring him down and waiting for an answer Kageyama gave a small chuckle causing Hinata's whole body to soften.

"What if I said I wanted to? That I fell in love with the sun back in August 2011 when we were just 8" as Kageyama stopped in his tracks to turn around and look at Hinata, her eyes widened once again, for the third time, Kageyama thought. Hinata reached up to cover her mouth so that the whole neighbourhood wouldn't hear her howling with laughter, Kageyama frowned but soon after, he himself started laughing too.

"Aww, that's so cute Kageyama I never knew you were the type to be so sweet" wiping a few tears away as she pinched his cheek.

"Oi! Stop that!" he groaned before Hinata could pull away Kageyama grabbed her wrists, faces inches apart; hearing soft breaths coming from Hinata, Kageyama pulled away since he definitely didn't want to whisk Hinata away then and there. Definitely. Kageyama whispered a soft "sorry..." 

Hinata gave a small smile.

The walk onwards was silent, crickets chirping and dogs barking. Kageyama hadn't realised they got to Hinata's house until Hinata tugged his arm and pulled him into a hug wrapping her slender arms across his back, snuggling herself on his shoulder. Kageyama leaned into Hinata arms weakly stretched out above her shoulders almost grabbing her head to squeeze her tighter, Kageyama felt his ears ringing. He couldn't hear anything. What was going on again? His heart rate was probably off the charts right now because he felt like he was about to explode, the ringing slowly faded away as Hinata whispered into his right ear "hey Tobio, could you kneel down a bit?" Kageyama complied, squeezing his eyes shut in fear of what might happen next. Hinata slowly slid her hands back down from Kageyama's back running her fingers in his smooth black hair and planting an oh so sweet kiss on his forehead, Kageyama's eyes widened almost gasping from the aftermath of Hinata's warm breath grazing his skin Hinata patted his shoulder and skipped off turning around waving her hand in the air chirping a "cya later Tobio!" Once Hinata was out of sight Kageyama clenched his shirt and covered his mouth hyperventilating from excitement, images of the scene replayed in his head. goddammit, I wasn't going to fall for the sun again but look at what's happened to me. I'm so fucked.

Yep, Kageyama was definitely fucked.
