'Order number 23!'

My heart jumped as my number was called, "Oh, yeah, here!" I ran up to collect my golden, crispy prize. Smiling to myself, I practically skipped out of the restaurant. Ahhh, Keigo will be so happy!! The smell of the fried chicken was making me salivate as I quickly made my way to his place.

Today was a special day; our 1 year anniversary. I had planned to surprise him by leaving work just early enough to grab his favourite food and slip into something a little more...comfortable before he got home from his work trip. The thought of it made me blush with anticipation. As his high-rise apartment block came in to view, I began to jog, becoming inpatient and excited at the thought of my plans for tonight.

It would just be my luck that the elevator would be out at such an imperative time and getting to the penthouse apartment by stairs was going to take it outta me. Goddamn Birdbrain and his wings, doesn't have to deal with this shit, my excitement wavered as I started the ascent, wish I had a quirk to help with this.

The last few steps were torture and my legs felt like jelly. Ha, the last time my legs felt like this was after a night with Keigo! A blush instantly crept over my cheeks at the thought. I hope he comes home soon. I fumbled with my keys, missing the keyhole several times before getting it right. That's strange, the key didn't turn as expected. Confused and little wary, I tried the handle. The door opened without any trouble, dumb bird must have forgotten to lock up. The lights were off, though the apartment glowed in the soft orange of the sunset. I started to take my shoes off when I heard something; a creak? I put it down to the wooden floor settling, but as I made my way further into the apartment the creaking became more persistent, along with another indistinguishable sound. 'Hello? Keigo?" I whimpered into the empty living room. I placed the takeaway bag on the ground and grabbed the closest hard object, just in case I needed to whoop some ass. A glass vase was my weapon of choice, and I stalked into the middle of the room to the figure out which direction the sounds were coming from. The bedroom? My heart dropped. Did one of Keigo's crazy fans break in? Was it a burglar? Quietly, I closed the gap between myself and the bedroom door. The sounds became louder; the creaking and....were those moans? My heart stopped beating. Eyes wide. I was inches from opening the door that lead into the bedroom when a familiar voice called out.

"Babybird! Oh, Babybird!"

Keigo? He's home already? Fright turned to confusion, which quickly changed to elation. He's home! As my hand pushed the door open, another voice cried out, "Oh my God, Hawks! I'm going to..."

What?

The sound of a glass breaking echoed around the apartment, forcing the two naked and sweaty bodies in front of me to turn in my direction. Silence.

"Songbird?" Keigo didn't make any attempt to cover himself or the mysterious girl. My voice was caught behind a lump that had developed in my throat. I tried to take a step back, but my socks slipped on the wooden floor and I landed in the shattered glass. "I-I, um, w-what..." I scrambled to get to my feet, all whilst never taking my eyes off the scene in front of me. They both stared back, almost goading me. The girl wrapped her arms around Keigo's neck, and proceeded to continue with her display of affection, as if I wasn't there.

"No"

The voice was so quiet, and I barely recognised it as my own, but it filled the room. "No," I said again, this time backing across the living room, slowly at first then gaining momentum when the reality of the situation started hitting me.

A smirk flashed across Keigo's face, and obnoxious look in his eye "Sorry, Songbird,"

That was the last sound I heard before I ran out of the apartment, not even taking the time to grab my shoes. I took the stairs a few at a time to speed up my escape; definitely a bad time for the elevator to be broken. The bottom of the staircase came in to view quickly, but I misjudged the distance and tumbled across the polished floor. Fucking get up, run, get out of here! My mind shouted at me as my limbs flailed, getting me into an upright position. I stumbled out to the front of the building where the street was busy with exhausted workers going home for the day. I just want to go home. But I couldn't. There was too much to remind me of him. I picked a direction away from the apartment block and ran.
