Meeting him Part 2

The first thing I see in the morning is Conrad standing in the hallway with a group of friends. He then starts to come toward me while talking with his friends. And he walks right past me! Just what I had expected. He had finally realised that I was just a weirdo being rude for no reason.
Come on, Arlo, maybe you are just overthinking. Perhaps he didn't see you.
Why am I even interested? I don't care if he talks to me or not.

Jesse and I are sitting in the library when I see Conrad again. I can't concentrate and keep on looking at him. He is 'pretty'. He suddenly looks at me and catches me staring at him like an idiot. I quickly look down and start reading my book, pretending I didn't do anything.
After almost a minute, I hear someone pulling out my opposite chair. I look up to see Conrad smiling at me. He asked me if he could sit there, and obviously, I agreed; I had no choice. As expected, Jesse was freaking out.

He begins the conversation.
" Hey, what's up? "
Did he say that! He's acting like we are buddies.
Stop overthinking, Arlo. It's what people typically say.
" Hi, nothing same old same."
" Yeah, is she your friend? "he says, looking at Jesse.
Before I say anything, Jesse extends her hand for a handshake, " I am Jesse. Arlo's best friend and roommate. And yeah, I already know you. You are Conrad. Arlo has told me a lot about you!"
Okay, that is an exaggeration because I haven't known him long enough to know anything about him.
" Nooo! What are you talking about? "I protested.
Conrad had not seen this coming. He looks confused and amused at the same time. He gives me a quick smile. Ugh, he thinks I am a creep. Thanks, Jesse, that helped. 

" By the way, I am throwing a party at my place today. Why don't you guys come? "Conrad asks, looking at both of us. Jesse knew I was going to say no, but before I could say anything, she said a yes, very loudly.

" I think I am going to pass. Thanks for inviting me. "
Jesse intervened, " Oh Conrad, don't worry, I'll make sure she comes with me. "
I give Jesse a death stare. She can't stop smiling.

After Conrad has left, I tell Jesse that she will have to do the laundry all alone for the next two weeks if she wants me to go to the party today.
She scoffs but agrees.
