Clover and Fern: Friends Forever

Chapter 3: Milk for the Milkless

 It's 3 months later and Calum the Milkman was coming over every Sunday to deliver milk, it was routine. Fern would make sure that Steven was far away so Cal could "hang out" for a while. The only problem is that no one in the house actually drank milk so they had so much milk just around the house with no purpose, but Fern needed an excuse for Calum to keep coming over since they were secret lovers. 

  Clover was extremely supportive of Calum and Fern's relationship and even helped Fern get Steven away and out of the house. She was trying to figure out how to get all of the milk out of the house in an unsuspicious way. Clover was very smart and innovative so she came up with the idea to give the milk to the homeless people who lived more in town, it would help everyone and ease Fern's conscience about cheating. 

  Clover made the plan to go into the town with Fern on Saturday the night before Calum came again with a whole new carton of milk. Everything was going as planned, but Fern was feeling a bit under the weather lately, but she wasn't going to let anything stop her. 

  It was finally Saturday night and Fern and Clover are getting ready to bring all the milk they have gotten in the past 3 months into town. They were planning to take Shawn's fancy car. Before they left, Shawn made sure that Clover knew how much he loves her. 

  "Hi Clover, I love you. You are the best person on the planet." Shawn said, "And I am in love with you and I will be forever and ever and ever." 

  "Thank you, Shawn. I love you very much so. You are kind and very loving!" Clover said, blushing. 

  They are so in love...

  Clover and Fern left to go into town. They had 12 weeks worth of milk to give to the homeless population of Ireland. They gave 2 weeks worth of it to a family and another week of milk to a man who looked like he was in a war. 

  But then Clover and Fern spotted two men, who seemed to either be lovers or best friends and they knew that they deserved the rest of the milk. They went to go talk to them. 

  "Hello, I'm Fern." Said Fern. 

  "Hello Fern, I'm David Snarp and this is my best friend who I would totally make out with David McDownwall." David Snarp said. 

  Clover stood there in awe, Fern had to nudge her to get her into focus again. 

  "And this is my best friend, Clover." Fern said, "She is just a bit out of it today." 

  "Mega cringe." Said David McDownwall. 

  "Hi! Do you guys need a car? We have a car you can have, it is my fiance's but I am going to break up with him now."  Clover said. 

  "What, why?" Fern said, pulling Clover aside, "We still need to drive home! Also, why would you break up with Shawn?" 

  "Because they need the car, and I am now in love with Snarp." Clover said, "This happened with you and the milk man and now it's happening with me and Snarp." 

  "Why are you only calling him Snarp?" 

  "I am not sure. Love is silly." Clover giggled. 

  "Oh my lord." 

  The girls turned back to the Davids, "Do you need a car? My boyfriend, Steven Hyde, can pick us up." Fern said. 

  "Fuck yes, We would love a car." Snarp said, "Also, Clover, you are very beautiful and funny and kind and smart and talented. By looking at you I can tell you're good at piano." 

  "I am good at piano." Clover said, "I am also, engaged. But I am breaking up with him now. I don't want to be like Fern and her milk man lover and her boyfriend. I want to be with one man and I know you're the man for me. Is that crazy?" 

  "No, you could never sound crazy."  Snarp said, "Although, is Fern okay? Milkman lover? I would love to be a part of your friend group." 

  "Yeah, Fern's fine! She's-"

  "Clover!" Fern yelled.

  Clover and Snarp looked over to where Fern is and saw her throwing up in the bushes. This was a common theme now a days for Fern. She was throwing up almost every morning and sometimes later in the day too! David Snarp went over to ask her if she was okay, and Clover looked away because she was disgusted.

  "cringe. ew." David McDownwall said. 

  When Fern and Snarp returned to Clover she asked if she was okay.

  "Clover, don't get mad, but I think I am pregnant." 

  Clover gasped, "Are you sure?" 

  "Yes, I know for a fact. I stopped getting my period eight milk deliveries ago and since then I have had so much morning sickness and I've even gained weight." 

  "Fern, who is the father?" 

  "It's Calum's baby. I know that for a fact." 

  "What are you gonna tell Hyde?" Clover asked. 

  "Nothing, not yet."

  "Fern. What are you gonna do when the baby comes out a mixed race baby, and it won't look anything like Steven?" Clover asked. 

  "I am not sure yet, but I have seven months to figure it out. Now shut up, Hyde is here to pick us up and take us home and I haven't told him yet."  Fern said. 

  Clover kissed David Snarp on the cheek and hopped into Hyde's car and threw Shawn's fancy car keys out the window to David McDownwall. Fern sat in the front seat next to Hyde and was silent. Hyde was confused, but still looked very happy.
