Rainbow's POV (Rainbow is hatching in this chapter)
Peck it! Peck the wall! Get out of this weird multicolored cage!
Suddenly Rainbow felt a tug in the back of her mind. Then she was pulled into the future......
Rainbow was in the middle of a fight between two hens that she felt that she was quite close to, but she didn't know who they were.
The fight was about how one hen didn't take care of the...child? Then Rainbow saw a glimpse of a small chick that was looked like it was rainbow.
Who is that? Rainbow wondered. Little did she know that she just saw a glimpse of herself.
The vision went on.
Then, she saw the hens that were fighting go to a large place they called the 'Court'. Rainbow had no idea what that meant.
Inside the 'Court', there were tons of strict-looking people. When the 'Judge' called the two fighting hens in, they immediately started fighting again. Then one of the hens said, "I take custody of the child!", and the vision faded away.
Rainbow thought, Huh. That was odd. Then she went back to pecking her way out of the cage.
Hey! Is that light?, She thought to herself. Then, when she pecked really hard on a bit of wall that was quite hard, and guess what? A small hole opened, just big enough for her to squeeze out.
"Look how strong she is," said a voice that sounded strangely like one of the voices that she had heard in her vision.
Just as Rainbow popped her head out, another voice chirped, "Er, is our chick's beak supposed to be...well, rainbow?"
Our chick....wait. Did that mean...those voices were from her parents?
Beaches's POV
Wow. Her sister's chick was beautiful, although...it was a future teller. Grandmother said that some future tellers could sometimes go crazy because, well, the overwhelming visions. Grandmother's death was caused by some super overwhelming vision. She had no time to say what the vision was about, since she had died in her sleep.
But Beach suspected that she saw a vision about the war, because before, Grandmother had smaller vision attacks before her death, and after her visions, she would mutter something about war, tribes, and land.
Beach was worried that the rainbow chick might also die the same way that Grandmother did, but younger, and if the chick died, Wave would be so sad because she probably loved the chick with all her heart.
Oh, right and what were they going to name the chick?....
