"Charlie, you have to decide if you want to feed or not. If you do, you will finish the transition into a vampire but if you don't, you will die." Stefan explains. I look at my hands, "I have to feed on a human? Can't I use one of the blood bags?" I asked. "Your first feed has to be fresh from the artery. But after that, we can help you with keeping the blood lust under control and you can live off of blood bags after that. But this decision has to be yours." Damon says. "It won't be that hard, Charlie. Damon and Stefan helped me through mine and we are all going to help you through yours." I look at Caroline, shocked "You will help me?" I asked. "Of course. You are my best friend." she tells me. "Oh God. I have to tell Matty." I say. "Caroline called him and he is on his way." Stefan tells me.

A few minutes later, Matty comes in the door and I rush to him and hug him. "Charlie, are you okay?" he asked. "Matty, you need to sit down. We have to talk to you." I tell him. He sits down next to me and Damon explains what is happening. "So, you are a vampire?" he asked me. "Apparently I am in transition. I have not fed yet. I didn't want to make that decision without talking to you." I tell him. "You have to feed. We already lost Vicky. I can't lose you too." he tells me and I nod my head. "Is that what you want to do?" Damon asked me. "I am not leaving you, Care or my brother. I want to feed." I tell him.

A couple of hours later, Damon, Stefan and Caroline are with me out in the woods. We were hoping to see a camper out here so not to draw any attention. All of a sudden we hear a girl crying, begging someone to stop. We head over and see Nate, holding a girl down to the ground and trying to get between her legs. He is forcing himself on another girl. I won't let that happen. Before anyone can stop me, I have Nate forced against a tree and my fangs rip into his throat and I drink his blood and rip his throat out, killing him. Damon pulls me back while Caroline is with the girl. I hear Caroline compelling her and telling her, "You went for a walk to get some fresh air. You were alone and the walk made you feel better than ever. You will go home and get some rest. You will not remember what happened nor remember the guy and we were never here. Understand?" The girl looked at her and said "I understand." before walking away. "Caroline, take her back to the boarding house to get cleaned up. We will take care of this." Damon says before handing me over to her.

An hour later, Damon comes in and I am sitting in the parlor with Caroline and starting to feel better. "How are you holding up?" he asked. "I feel better actually. Damon, I fed. But at the same time, I got revenge against Nate and saved that girl from going through what I did." I tell him. I am actually feeling really good. Matty comes in and sees me sitting there. "You look better." he says. "I am. I fed." He looks at me and asked, "On who?" I look at him and smile and say "Nate." He looks at me shocked and Damon speaks up. "He was trying to rape another girl. He deserved it and she got closure." Matty nods his understanding and comes to sit next to me. "So, that's it? You're a vampire?" I nod my head and Damon says "She still has a way to go. We will help her keep everything under control. Bonnie is on her way over to make her a daylight ring."

Bonnie walks in and I see Damon hand her something and she asks "Are you sure?" He nods his head and she walks over and I see a beautiful Victorian era ring that has a clear stone and very intricate designs on each side. After Bonnie is done with the spell, Damon takes the ring and the only finger that it fits on is my ring finger on my left hand. Damon slides the finger onto my hand and smiles. "It fits perfectly." I smile and kiss him softly. "Thank you Damon." Stefan walks over to see the ring and asks "Is that the ring I think it is?" I look at him confused and Damon smirks and says "That it is little brother." I ask "What ring is it?" Damon looks at me and says "Our mother's engagement ring." I look at him shocked and he says "You have an eternity to answer." My smile gets bigger and I put my arms around his waist and bury my head in his chest. "Someday I'll say yes.." I whisper and feel him kiss the top of my head.

Matty goes to leave and says "I may not like Damon but you two are good together. He will keep you safe." I kiss his cheek before he leaves. I walk over to the fireplace and sit on one of the couches and he comes to sit next to me. "Are you okay?" he asked. "Yeah, I'm good." I say and I snuggle into his side. "I might want to stay away from people for a while. I didn't want to tell Matty but I could smell his blood and it took everything I had not to bite him." I say. "We will work on that. Are you hungry?" he asked and I nod my head and before anything else can be said, Caroline comes up behind us and hands me a blood bag. "Thanks Care." I tell her. "I told you, we got you."
