Albus and Scorpius raced up the sloping banks towards the castle. It was hard to run in the icy snow and Scorpius laughed when Albus fell on his arse.

"Not funny" Albus said with a grimace.

"Sorry babe, but if you saw yourself you would laugh too."

Albus gave him the finger before scrambling back up and chasing Scorpius, to which Scorpius let out a shrill scream. They ran in laughter up to the castle, almost forgetting they were already late for potions.

----

"Potter and Malfoy, I take it you find no harm in taking your time to get to my class," Professor Waller said as they sheepishly walked into the dungeons.

"Sorry sir we um, were late...Quidditch practice you know," Albus bit his lip knowing Waller wasn't having it.

"We were putting the balls in...away, I meant away, putting the balls away." Scorpius glanced quickly at Albus and looked down at the ground in terrified embarrassment.

"I saw Rosetta Broadmoor at breakfast, she's in the team tell me if I'm wrong?"

"Well yeah, she's um, yeah she is" Scorpius said, lost for words.

"Well then that's final then, 10 points from Slytherin, for lateness and a pitiful excuse."

They both lamely walked to their table where Rose sat, with raised eyebrows. "Well go on then!" she grinned, "where were you?"

"Quidditch practice," Albus said curtly through his teeth

"I call bullshit!"

"We're not bullshitting you!" Scorpius chimed in.

"Merlin's pants, you've got to be some of the worst liars I know, did you hear yourselves up there, mumbling excuses. I mean don't worry, it's okay I'm not gonna pry, but that was fucking hilarious!" She started laughing so hard it turned into a cackle, and Albus and Scorpius watched her until they couldn't help but laugh too, the embarrassment falling away as quickly as it came.

Throughout the lesson, Scorpius and Albus kept looking at each other and sharing cute smiles, remembering what they did that morning and how they were the only ones who knew about their love, well them and probably Rose because lets face it, they were shit liars.

It wasn't only Scorpius on Albus' mind however, he couldn't wait for the end of the week when the term would finish and he would be able to go to the burrow for Christmas. It was easy for him and Scorpius to find time alone at the burrow, with so many people it was easy for them to slip away...plus he couldn't wait to give him his Christmas present. Albus loved to write and he had made a book of all the poetry he had written about Scorpius and all the photos they had together. He worked on it every moment he could, when Scorpius went on his prefect rounds or if he slept early, he just hoped that Scorpius would love it as much as he did.

----

Hannah Finnigan was Albus' ex girlfriend. They dated in their 5th year, the year before and it was not an understatement to say that their relationship was toxic. Hannah had had a rough upbringing, with her parents having her older brother when they were still teenagers. When Seamus found out about the pregnancy, he was scared and he left and went to Dean for help, who pleaded him to go back and stay with her, feeling sorry for the muggle girl. Their relationship was never pretty, anyone that looked could tell that they were only staying together for necessity. Seamus' mental health turned him to an alcohol addiction, making him angry and violent meaning Hannah Finnigan never felt safe within her own home. He left the family for good when Hannah was dating Albus and she fell into depression, hating and blaming herself. Albus tried so hard to help her and take care of her, even when he started having feelings for his best friend. He felt so conflicted, not knowing if he should act on his love for Scorpius or stay and help Hannah. It really hurt him, seeing Hannah the way she was but it got to the point where it was so unbearable, he had no choice.
