{9} Professional Training

Y/N POV
I woke up at 7a.m. in the morning as usual. And did my morning routine. Then I went down stairs to get some breakfast.

"Good morning mama" I said

"Good morning honey. Today's your first official day of going to professional training. Are you excited? " She asked

"Y-yeah kind of but Coach Nekomata did mention that they were going to be a lot older than me... " I said

"That must mean you have raw talent. They must've seen potential in you. That's why they chose you" Mum said

"Y-yeah sure. " I said feeling a bit flustered

"Well since today is your first day they want you to be there by 12p.m. . So we are leaving at 11.40 okay?" She asked

"Yeah that's fine. " I said

After about 4 hours we left the house. When we reached the gymnasium I was in awe. It was so big! My mum accompanied me into the gymnasium and left me there with Coach Nekomata.

"I'll be back here at 6 to pick you up honey. " She said then she walked back to the car and drove off

"Y/N! Long time no see! Have you gotten any better? " Coach Nekomata asked

"Yeah! I got better! And I made up more new moves ! " I said

"Okay! Now go change into your sports wear. We are going into the court after okay? " He said

I nodded and went to change. After I came out he brought me to the court.

"Hello Nekomata. Who is this little girl you have here? " A man asked

"This is Hanaki Y/N. She's the one I've been telling you about. " Coach Nekomata said

The man then bent down to my height.

"So you're Hanaki Y/N. I've seen your practices and I think you have raw potential. You're only 8 but you showcase more talent than the others do. I will be glad to train you" The man said

"H-Hai. I will meet your expectations" I said

"That's great! Now get on the court I want to see what you can do against these boys" He said

"Boys! Line up! I want you to meet someone! " He said . They all then lined up

"This is Hanaki Y/N! She'll be joining your practice from today onwards" He said

"Eh? But she's so small. We are going to crush her to pieces" A boy said

"Yeah coach! How old is she anyways? " Another boy asked

"She's only 8. Most of you boys are 16 right? I expect you all to play better than her. "Coach said

"The losing team will be getting extra training " The Coach said

"Eh?! Coach how is this fair! The team with the girl will definitely lose! " A boy said

"Don't underestimate her. She could be better than most of if not all of you. Don't go easy on her" Coach said

"Now go and put on your Jersey's. I will assign the teams after" Coach said

"H-Hai! " They all said

After they all put on their Jersey they went to the coach. He then gives out the team assignments. I was in group B. The boys looked like they were internally crying as if they thought they were going to lose

"Hi! You must be Hanaki San right? What position do you play?" The boy wearing a number 4 jersey asked

"I can play any position you guys need. " I said

"Alright. We don't have any setters on this team. So can you play setter? " He asked and I nodded

Then the match started. It was group B vs group D. Group D looked at us and laughed

"They are definitely going to lose. They have to watch over that little girl right there. If I keep aiming my serve at her they will definitely lose" A boy in a white number 7 jersey said

PWEET the game started

The boy who was talking bad about me earlier was serving. And as expected he aimed right at me. It didn't look like a powerful serve so that could only mean it was a jump floater. I put my hand over for an over head receive. Then I called out to number 4 . He then jumped. I aimed at his highest point and tossed to him.

BAM the volleyball hit the floor. They were all looking at me in shock.

"I-it fitted perfectly in my palm! " Way to go Hanaki San! " The boy said

I nodded. They all were shook. This time they knew the coach wasn't kidding. I did have raw talent.

We played a few more rounds. And our side won! It was great.

The boys carried me up on their shoulders and cheered my name

"Way to go Hanaki San! We didn't know you were this talented! Guess coach wasn't kidding! We'll have to watch out for you or you would take our places in games" They said

We played a few more games and we also won. Nobody was expecting themselves to be beaten by an 8 year old girl.

"Good job today Y/N San! I'm glad we found you. Eitherwise all that talent would've been wasted. I'm going to groom you to be the best player! " Coach said

I nodded in response.

My mum then came and picked me up.

"So how was practice today honey? " She asked me

"It was awesome! I'm looking forward to training with them" I said and I dozed off

When I got home I played volleyball with Kenma and Tetsu like I promised. They were also shocked at how well I could play.

It was great. This was my new life! A path to being a volleyball prodigy.

After a year I got better at volleyball. I was unstoppable. I was better than all the players at the professional training course. Sometimes we would have practice matches with other training courses and we would always win. It felt good to know I beat a bunch of high Schoolers. The members sometimes would invite me to play with their volleyball teams in volleyball matches. I would always accept in hope to get more practice and skills. By the age of 9 my vertical was already 305 cm. It was scary just thinking about how much I could jump as I got older.
