Chapter Six: Why Did This Have To Happen To Us?

You and The Doctor were currently running from Zygons. They were big red rubbery things with suckers. You turned and saw them gaining on you. "Doctor they're getting close!" You screeched in fear. You tripped on something and fell on your back as a Zygon came and towered over you. The next thing you saw was black after hearing a gunshot and The Doctor scream your name.

You woke up to see The Doctor pacing with a worried look on his face. "Doctor?" You squeaked. He rushed over to you and took your hand in his. "I thought I had lost you." He half whispered. Your other hand had instinctively moved to your stomach but felt it surprisingly a little flat. "Doctor, what happened back there?" You asked with growing worry. He sighed and took your other hand in his and gave you a soft look. "When you tripped, the Zygons...they um...they shot you in...the stomach. They killed the baby and damaged a few ribs. I'm so sorry, my dear." He explained with genuine sadness in his voice. "W-what?" You half whispered getting a little choked up. "I'm so so sorry." Was all he could say. He kissed your hand. Then the other one. Then your lips and pulled away. "Why did this have to happen to us?" A few stray tears fell down your cheeks. The Doctor kissed them away gently. "Sometimes, things just happen to people. We don't know why, but they do." He half whispered. "Wait. You've got the TARDIS. We could just go back and stop the Zygons from shooting me." You said smiling a little. The Doctor sighed. When it comes to certain deaths, sometimes they become fixed points in time. This is one of those times. You have been out for a week now and trust me I've tried going back multiple times but for some reason the TARDIS won't let me. I'm sorry, love." He said softly. Then you started crying uncontrollably. You flipped to lay on your side and just kept crying. The Doctor tried to comfort you and get you to stop but you just couldn't. You had sat there for about 20 minutes crying then it turned into little sobs and now you were just sniffling. "Can we go to bed? I'm tired." You whispered just loud enough for The Doctor to hear. "Of course." He said whilst picking you up and carefully carrying you upstairs and into your shared bedroom then gently set you down on the bed and covered you up. He changed into some blue pyjama pants and climbed under the covers next to you. You snuggled up to his chest as he pulled you closer and held you in his arms protectively. "I love you, (y/n)." He whispered into your hair. "I love you too, Doctor." You mumbled as you fell into a deep sleep. The Doctor also drifted into a light sleep.

Okay guys. I hope you are enjoying this story so far. I'm sorry about this chapter being shorter. I will most definitely try my hardest to make them at least one or two more pages long.
