Chapter 15

*Sasha's POV*

It's been five years since the incident. We were forced to stay at Connie's house for safety. For very obvious reasons, Levi was the only one who was allowed to exit the house.

Today was almost the same as others. We were doing our cleaning duties. I was cleaning the kitchen with Levi and Petra.

But while I was cleaning...something came into my mind,

"Levi, question..."

He turned around, and gave me a tch, "what is it, Potato Girl?"

"Uh...a-are you sure you killed Bertholdt?"

He and Petra both hesitated, Petra scratched her head, thinking I might be so stupid for asking that kind of question.

"Why would you ask that question? Of course he di-"

Levi interrupted "didn't you see his body on the floor? didn't that give you at least a bit of belief?"

I looked down with an embarrassed look,

"I'm sorry...but I...there was something... Something I saw while running to Mikasa... Something...suspicious..."

Petra raised her eyebrow "what do you mean?"

"I remembered something while running to Mikasa's formation. I heard running foot steps to the second exit no one was guarding."

I took a picture from my pocket "I never had a chance to see them, but their shadows were surprisingly familiar..."

I gave the picture to Petra, "the 1st shadow was to be measured as 8.5cm. And the second shadow was 9.2cm. If I'm not mistaken, Levi was the one who checked the height chart."

Levi nodded "yeah. And the exact people who're as tall as that is...sh*t..."

"Exactly...so that's what I was trying to ask you. I was making sure if you really murdered Bertholdt."

He placed his hand on his head "how the hell is this happening? I saw him, plain dead. His heart wasn't beating, he wasn't breathing. I swear he didn't get back u-"

Petra placed her hand on his shoulder "calm down, don't take this too far. You might break something for kill someone"

He removed her hand from his shoulder "you're right, sorry..." His eyes went back to normal.

"We need to really the others about this...chores are suspended, Petra, tell the others to meet at the dining table in five minutes,"

Five minutes later, everyone was in the dining table. Erwin looked bored

"So...what's the plan?"

I stood up and read a paper I wrote for myself, "good morni- I mean eveni-"

Levi facepalmed "just say it"

"Fine. I'm aware that you all remember the incident that took place five years ago. I managed to find something strange while I was looking for Mikasa. There were two shadows which were running outside the second exit, they looked exactly like Reiner and Bertholdt. I have some evidence tho-"

Hanji took my wrist "where is it?"

I shook as I gave her the pictures, she studied it quickly and returned it, "it's them, alright...but...what was with the ones Jean and Levi killed?"

That question no one could answer. There were no theories or explanations about this. Then Levi finally talked,

"Wait. Yesterday, while I was getting some food, I overheard Annie calling someone on the phone. Something about meeting in Annie's house. They're most probably gonna have a meeting there. A volunteer and I will go straight to her house and see what they're up to. So,who's volunteering?"

Petra slowly raised her hand, "I'll do it"

Levi disagreed, "the job's too dangerous, they might be tricking us or something. Best if you stay here, where you're safe"

Petra sighed "seriously? Why should I stay here? Why are you trying to protect me-"

"Are you sure no one else wants to go?"

"DO YOU HATE ME OR SOMETHING!?! IM NOT A LITTLE GIRL, IM THIRTY-FOUR"

"I DONT WANT YOU TO DIE, PETRA."

She hesitated, she rubbed her elbow softly while blushing red. Levi shrugged

"Fine, you can come. But stay with me at all times, okay?"

She nodded and hugged Levi, making Eren look a little uncomfortable.

Connie asked "so, what're we gonna do? Just stay here and wait for you two?"

I shook my head "you and I're gonna guard the outside of your house. Jean and Armin will guard both exits of the back of the house, and Mikasa and Eren are gonna head to the balcony to check if anyone's reaching us"

Erwin nodded "it's official"
