Yuna

My head spun as his words echoed in my mind. "Mine." The dizziness hit hard, and before I could resist, everything faded to black.

I found myself in a cave, reliving the moment my ex-mate had rejected me. Those words my weakness. I felt the weight of them, the sharp sting of betrayal.

Suddenly, I was lifted into strong arms. The man who had entered my cave carried me out, and I drifted in and out of consciousness. His voice, smooth and comforting, whispered near my ear. "Good morning, my flower," he said in a tone that sent shivers through me. He hadn't rejected me at least, not yet. His growl echoed, protective. "Don't do any harm to her."

I tried to speak, but my lips were dry, my body too weak. The sound of machines beeping filled the air, and my head throbbed. I couldn’t move, couldn’t speak. Panic began to rise.

A man entered the room. "Who's this girl?" he asked, his voice distant.

Another man replied, "Found her in the woods, in our territory."

I felt warmth brush against my cheek, and my body reacted to the touch. My heart raced as I silently prayed, "No check-up, please." But I couldn’t stop it. I felt a needle pierce my skin and drifted into a deep sleep.

16 hours later

I woke, dizzy and disoriented. A kind old doctor smiled at me. "Good afternoon, young lady," he said, introducing himself as Dr. Joe Harsalt from the Moonachre pack.

I slowly sat up, blinking at the people around me. He gestured to a towering man with dark brown hair. "This is our Alpha, Sean Bonnet," the doctor said.

Next, a woman with a braid of flowers smiled warmly. "Our Luna, Daisy Warren," she greeted me.

And then there was the Beta. A tall, raven-haired man with piercing green eyes. The moment our gazes locked, sparks shot through me, something I hadn’t felt in so long.

"Zane Forester," the doctor introduced him.

My heart skipped a beat.

Just as the doctor moved to check my wounds, Zane growled. "Don’t touch my mate."

Everyone flinched at his words, and the Alpha chuckled. "And you said I was overprotective."

I couldn’t help but smile. Well, thank you, Moon Princess, for giving me such a fierce protector.
