Liliana's POV

"Lily! Lily, wake up!" Ginny practically screamed as she shoved me once again. I groaned in response, swatting her hand away from me and nuzzling deeper under the covers. She had been trying to wake me up for hours now, probably Hermione's orders, but it's a Saturday and after an exhausting week of studying, being stared at and constantly being followed, I needed nothing more than to hibernate for the weekends. But obviously that would be impossible with Ginny and Hermione trying to drag me out of bed.

"Fine, I'm getting up!" I grumbled out, tired of Ginny shaking me, and got out of bed. It took me quite a few minutes to get ready and by the time I was done putting on my red sweater over my shirt, Ginny was long gone. I sighed. Guess I'm walking alone.

I walk out of the Gryffindor portrait hole and made my way to the library instead of the great hall. I'm not in the mood for breakfast anyways. I open the door and walk into the empty library, excluding a few third year and seventh year students that were staring at their mountain pile of homework with dread. I grabbed a potions book and sat down at the far end of the library, the same table I usually study with Hermione.

But before I could even get through the second page of the book, an all too familiar voice called out to me. I look up to see Zacharias Smith leaning on the empty chair in front of me. Just great.

"All alone love?" He said with a smirk as he took a seat. I didn't bother to refrain from rolling my eyes, which only made his smirk widen if possible.

The whole smirking thing brought my thoughts to a specific blond haired Slytherin, but I brushed away the idea of those thoughts as soon as they came.

I ignore his presence and continue to read my book, but clearly he doesn't want to be ignored and he grabs my free hand on the table. I glare at him coldly as I mentally force myself to not get upset or jerk my hand away roughly, instead I try to free my hand from his grip, but he wouldn't let go.

"Leave me alone Smith." I said, but he ignores me. I simply sigh, I can't afford to get upset and lose control of my magic, which could possibly get someone killed if I don't learn to control it. Ever since Harry and I have defeated Voldemort for the last time, we discovered that we still had our wandless magical abilities. But unfortunately for me, I can't properly control my magic and I would lose complete control if I was angry or upset. Something about a strong magical core but weak focusing abilities.

Smith plays with my hand and after a few irritating seconds, he brings my hand to his lips. My head snaps up in surprise and I immediately jerk my hand back roughly out of his grip. After seeing the initial shock on his face, I felt some satisfaction for doing so.

"What's wrong love?" He says with a frown as he gets up and leans closer to me. I hold my breath, trying desperately not to fling him into the nearest wall. His face inches closer to mine and I try my best to push him away, which does nothing as he continues to move ridiculously closer.  I clench my fists and squeeze my eyes shut, and just as his nose touches mine, I hear a loud inhuman-like growl. Thankfully he pulls away as well, looking around for the source of the sound. After a few more seconds, he shrugs and leans into me once again.

GROWL

He pulls back and I sigh in relief, extremely grateful to whoever or whatever that had made that noise. Smith tries to lean in once again, only to pull back because the growling was getting increasingly louder and more angrier. I gratefully look around, in search of this mysterious thing that deserves a hug for distracting Smith.

Almost as if broken out of trance, I realise that Smith is distracted. This is my chance. I grab my book and quietly, but quickly, make my way away from Smith and out of the library. I let out a breath I wasn't aware I was holding in. That was close.

I speed walk down the halls, completely unaware of the blond Slytherin boy who calmly walked (more like waltzed) out of the library.
