1.0 Zombie Richtofen x Reader

After sometime, the argument between the guys got worse and there was just to much tension. In the end, everyone seemed happy, we had almost everything we ever wanted, even though we weren't family in blood. We were definitely family in heart.

The warmth from the fire slowly lulled you to sleep as you watched the ashes still burning from the wood fly up into the sky and disappear in front of the stars. Everyone fell asleep after having a little get together. The hard times were over and you could all rest, it wasn't easy and it definitely wasn't a quick trip. Everyone finally got to see each other's true colors, Takeo wasn't quiet, Ed wasn't insane, Dempsey wasn't rude and Nikolai took it a little easier on the drinks.

Alcatraz. Alcatraz wasn't a nice place, it was tight and everything just seemed more... rushed. The zombies were definitely more dangerous than the ones you've ran into previously, it was all just to overwhelming. Especially with Brutus chasing and just toying with you nonstop. Everyone looked as if they were going to give up, I don't know how many times I saved almost everyone.

The anxiety and adrenaline was a bit to much and made your heart feel like it was actually hammering a bit to hard to where it hurt, everyone was gone. You got up and walked around looking for the guys tracks but found nothing, the fire went out and suddenly there was a gust of wind. Everything was black and lights just flickered on, the walls embedded in your mind immediately found its way into your head. Blood painted over the walls with 'no way out' written on them came and hit you. You turned and seen everyone just laying there. As you walked back the walls began to close in and it got a little harder to breathe. You turned and ran into Brutus, as he swung his bat you closed your eyes and hoped for the best. Before he hit you was when everything turned to smoke, the black ash turned red and fire was once again lit in front of you.

The dreams only got worse as you got up and seen everyone laying there. Dead. This had to have been some sick dream, tears pricked your eyes. This has to have been a dream. Hoping it was, you almost relaxed, but the wound on your side from earlier started to hurt. Nikolai, where was Nikolai? You turned and seen Richtofen's body facing the flame and sat still. "R-Richtofen?" Your voice came out cracked, you slowly walked around him and seen that he was just staring, his eyes landed on yours as you jumped back. "Richtofen? Is that you?" His cold lifeless yellow eyes just watched yours. For some reason his eyes still held love, it was like he wasn't gone. "Richtofen, what happened? Why..why is this happening?" His small grunt in reply was all that you got, it broke your heart to hear that from the guy you loved

"Everything's gone to shit and people are dying left and right. I'm confused....I'm scared. I wish you were really here" twigs snapped not to far away from where you stood in front of Richtofen. "Listen, I know you don't understand what I'm saying but, I'm gonna miss you, it won't be the same without you. I guess you could say you did it your way" A second voice chimed in "Y/n" "Nikolai, you're still alive" "yeah, I thought you were gone" "I thought you were gone...what's happening?" "The Aether isn't right, it is, but it's not" "well..what happens next?" "We have to finish off every evil left on this planet including us" "does that mean Richtofen too?" "Even Richtofen" I turned and seen Richtofen still looking at me, it was hard to accept these times and just move on but he wasn't coming back. There was no way back, "alright..uh, give me a second" "please, no rush"

I turned to Richtofen who just sat there. "You lied, you said we'd finish this together....Theres no changing the past now. I'm going to miss you, really I will. I wish this could have turned out differently, this is a goodbye then. I love you Edward Richtofen" I turned, thinking weather this was a good idea of not. Then again, I remembered that he wasn't coming back. I sighed and let Nikolai know that I was ready to go. He walked away and it seemed like forever, he didn't mention how he was going to put it to an end. The thoughts and ideas of ending this rushed through my head as they seemed to get lighter and he could have just said some things and left him or he could have done it another way. A gunshot ran through the air, the thoughts of leaving everyone I love behind was sad, I wasn't going to see Richtofen anymore. I didn't even get to say how much I loved him. Warm tears silently fell down my cheek and made its way onto Richtofen's white blouse he handed to me not to long ago.

It was just the two of us left, who knows when we'll meet again, but I know it was soon.
