"Di, why are you here? Shouldn't you take rest right now?" Arnav asked as he looked at his sister helping the new cook smilingly but she was moving too much and she wasn't resting. What if anything happened to her? What will he do if she too, like her, left?
Arnav just looked at her when he turned to look at the cook who was studying him openly. Reading him, solving him and wondering about him. Questioning through her eyes but the answers weren't hers to give.
He cocked his head at her and his sister was for a while, forgotten, in her own world, left to her own devices. For a while, there was him, her and her frown that turned to a gentle smile. A smile that he was waiting for.
His lips tilted too, unknowingly but shockingly a gasp sounded in the kitchen and he turned his head to his sister who was looking at him with eyes wide open.
He knew she was wondering too, working out what made him smile and his lips turned into a smile with him knowing when he heard another gasp whose owner even whispered the words "Too handsome!!"
His smile widened as he noticed the two women looking at him with eyes open wide and turned around to leave.
He turned around and his smile turned into chuckles. His little laugh brought both the women out of their reverie and red blush covered one while other just wondered what happened to her cold brother. Where has he gone? Is he alright?
Wondering that, Anjali left the kitchen without knowing that a plate is still in her hands and khushi started working with her heart galloping in her chest.
The ladies spent their day with clumsiness as they saw a smile that can make the peacock shed its wings because they just weren't upto the standard of beauty.
Arnav reached his room and took a seat on his recliner while a smile lingering on his lips remembering that moment where she whispered abashed and knew when his laughter was heard, the blush raised.
He also saw the mistakes she made today, he saw the broken plate which broke while she was lost.
He was handsome and he knew it well but it was a first where someone stared at him so cleanly while not making any advances. And he was the one left wanting for more here.
He noticed how her head tilted as she studied him and his sister. He knew she is deciphering the reason behind his cold avatar while she also wondered about his sister.
He noticed how she didn't came forward to help his sister and the smile that his sister gave her was one that even he didn't got from her.
He was aware of everything and he was willing to watch this play to advance and show him the colors of hope. But, if he saw even a little star of hopeless truth, he would bring this new light in his own dark while sheltering his sister with this light, so she can live with her smile.
The light has to be where it is and he isn't planning to let go of his new light of hope.
Not for now, at least.
Arnav smiled to himself again as he went back to work and started reading his files and working on his laptop. He spoke to clients while ordering his assistant to send all the designs for the showstopper.
He worked and worked but he didn't had any inspiration. He saw the bland designs that the self branded top designer of his company sent and in next minute all of them heard a long string of words that only had one meaning: useless, all of you are useless.
Arnav was trying to draw a red gown, a gown that would set any other red to shame. It shouldn't be too bright that it would hurt the eye but it can't be dull to not be in the limelight. It should be in the light, a limelight that would match its beauty.
A beauty.
A beauty that stays in the smile and his head raised as he looked towards the door when the new chef sent by his Nani entered his room to place the coffee.
She didn't said anything as she placed and was about to leave when she turned and said "Your smile gave me a weird hope today."
Arnav looked at her in surprise but her gaze didn't had anything that made him wary from her or feel disgusted from her. It was too new and different, she had her eyes that were filled with a smile. The smile that she gave to him was forgotten when he saw the smile in her eyes.
Her eyes held happiness, hope, and beauty of her own, she thanked him for that beauty he gave her.
He knew what she meant. Thank you for making me blush, for letting me feel hope, for allowing me to be with her, for letting me fill her with hope.
His smile, for the very time, filled someone with hope. And the person was his own light of hope.
Wonder of wonders happened as they smiled at the same time but nobody saw that smile, it was their own little pleasure. One felt better thanking while the other graciously accepted.
They were new to the realm of smiles and were wandering in the new territory of hope, one giving and other taking. It will be a new experience for both, together and forever.
