Khushi looked at the decorations and held out Arnav's coffee while he explained his aim for the stages top. He wanted everything to shine in a deep red and a mix of black. Also, adding some glazed flowers in the background.
Khushi wondered about something and handed him his coffee and moved towards the curtain he rejected. She touched the fabric once and then smiled.
"Arnavji..." Arnav turned to look at Khushi who called him and saw her holding roll of black shiny cloth and then she opened the roll as red and black mashed with each other looking very much like flame and his eyes widen while his eyes took their calculations abroad.
This was perfect!
A perfect background to match the haweli, the red and black combined like fire. He held the cloth and shouted for Aman and the decorators he has contacted.
Suddenly, everything that was in a pause because of not finding the right background started with a joult and everybody was running as the fashion show was just in four days and the stage will have to be ready in two days.
Arnav kept his coffee cup down and took it on him to set the curtains and background with proper fashion.
His dresses are going to shine the brightest while his star will shine even more. He smiled as he looked at the curtains and wiped his forehead that was covered in sweat.
"Arnavji, your juice." Khushi said as she saw him covered in sweat and handed him a towel as he gave her back the empty glass.
Arnav finally after cleaning his face and hands turned towards her and held her hand. He took her to his room and made her sit.
Khushi looked at him with innocent eyes while Arnav kept his head on her shoulder, his hand touched her other cheek and caressed it for a while.
"Khushi, I don't know what we have, if it is love or more than that... I never trusted things like love.., don't they sound too vague to you? I mean, just a four lettered word, can it make you do things you never did before?" Arnav looked straight into Khushi's eyes and she smiled a little while her own hand of its own accord held his face, caressing her thumb over his cheeks.
"I... I want to tell you that, that I want to take you with me and hide you from everyone. Keep you with me forever... what should I do to achieve that, khushi? How should I keep my proposal infront of you? I don't understand this..." Arnav whispered as forehead touched hers while her hands caressed his cheeks. Khushi felt a tear slide down her cheek when Arnav moved back and said "I have something for you, wait here. Please."
Khushi smiled and nodded at him while another tear fell as she noticed his gaze filled with insecurities. It was all so familiar to her. She was too like that once. Trapped. Lost.
But that was all in the past. She is new, found and free.
Arnav came back with a blue packet and handed it to her. "You wear it on the fashion show if you too want to stay with me forever." Please do wear it.
Arnav looked over at her and her wet cheek that was a little pale got colored in mere seconds. She looked perfect enough to eat.
She looked pretty with her lips and cheeks all red and glossy. Her eyes were a little red and had a sheen of water on them but when she looked at him and smiled, her eyes had stars in them, shining and laughing with his. They are perfect for each other. They have to be. He won't have it any other way.
Khushi got up to leave the room when her hand was held back by Arnav. She turned her face towards him slowly and looked at him while he smiled but his eyes held promises, he didn't spoke a word but his message was already across her.
Next time, in his room, she won't be leaving just like that.
She knew it and... she wanted know all about it.
Khushi walked out of the room on unsteady steps and went to the kitchen only for her smile to widen and cheeks to redden. She wanted to laugh out loud and cry. She has never felt so happy. She twirled and lifted the blue packet high in her hands twirling it with her.
She hugged that packet to her chest and left as soon as she prepared food and completed her work. She didn't wanted to be present at the dinner tonight, her smile was a little too big a tell-tale.
Khushi left the palace and reached her home to directly go to her room. She smilingly opened the packet to see a red and black ready-made saree and tried it on.
It was a perfect fit.
It looked like it was made for her only.
Like she was the one for it.
Like the designer thought of her only...
The thought shocked her entire self and she shook her head, she shouldn't be thinking about this. She shouldn't...
