Devyani looked at Garima who looked at them with surprise and smiled. She stood up and moved to hold hands of the lady who was the same age of her daughter and said "Garima, I have known you since the day Shashi brought you with himself to the haweli to introduce you as his wife. You were my daughter's friend and secret keeper too. Ratna would have wanted this marriage too. My chotte, is the most like Ratna. He may not look the part but he has every bit of Ratna residing in him. Trust this old woman's judgment."
Garima looked at Devyani, her gaze complicated and she looked at the cold expressionless face that held anxiety looking at her. She sighed and finally nodded. "He does look like her." Garima caressed Arnav's hairs once and moved back.
Arnav looked at his nani before smiling and his sister held his hand excitedly when they decided that, the engagement will be held today only.
Suddenly, khushi ready in a pretty pink saree stood in front of him and her hand held a ring. A ring that she will make him wear and he will become someone who can claim a right on her. He will have a haq on her.
A part of him was scared of the notion, not because he was scared of commitments but because he might lose himself in one of their moments and show her his desire, his very being that he controls in her presence...
Whenever he has touched her, his hands itched to hold her so close, so close such that he become a part of her that even she won't be able to separate from herself.
He was new to this kind of urge but he held his reigns tightly treading upon his very control that was as thin as ice. His thread of patience has never been so close to snapping before but khushi, her one smile makes it difficult for him to hold onto himself.
Her very presence lights up his world with fire and desire that every breath of his were filled with her and her only.
Arnav looked at the ring as khushi slid it in his finger and his face held the very promise of his arduous claim upon her. He was the very definition of a man in love.
He saw his claim on her and then at her claim on him. They now have each other and they can finally lean on one-another without being called words.
They have no fear for anyone anymore. Anybody can see them but nobody can point a finger on them.
A relationship between two person doesn't just define what they are to each other but also defines what their worth is in the society.
Live-in relationships aren't bad to be in but they just are not respected in the way that a relationship should be. A woman should always be respected and the same goes for men but that can only happen when a man and woman would both respect each other in any and every relation.
And Arnav and khushi have already given that respect to each other.
Arnav looked at khushi and smiled as her eyes lowered from his and her whole attention was on the floor while all the people merrily smiled and laughed with each other.
They all had a good time while the other dates for wedding was decided by Shashi according to hindu calenders.
The date for marriage was chosen a month later as Arnav wouldn't have it any later. His thoughts were totally mirrored by his brother, Aakash. Arnav wondered why Aakash wanted the marriage to be early but then threw his thoughts away as they both knew how much Aakash worships him.
Aakash looked at a certain someone who glanced at him once and then didn't looked at him again. His confidence fell in tatters but he has to be with the girl now. Anything else is not acceptable.
Piya wondered how a gentleman who knocked her pants off was there with her cousin's relations but she knocked the thought off. She was tired of thinking and sleeping dreamers nights because of this one guy. She wants to have a better sleep and therefore, ignoring and being away from this guy should help.
She only did started having good night's sleep a little while ago only...
Khushi looked at Arnav as he with his family stood up to leave when everybody seemed to move a little too fast and they both were alone. There was nobody with them to urge them to work or talk or move.
"You are looking beautiful." Arnav said as his hand caressed her face. Khushi's eyes grew glassy as her hand brushed over his and her eyes closed to feel his presence and touch that washed all over her.
"I got ready for you." Words left her tongue and made her still for a second. She was feeling so much for the one guy standing infront of her and still, she couldn't let her tongue slip but she suddenly did.
Arnav leaned onto her and smiled "Good. If it's for me, I am happy." Arnav nudged her nose with his while his smile brightened a little. He has never felt so much at peace before. He felt like there's nothing he can't fight anymore. He can move the mountains and fight the gods.
He can do anything in the world, his every bet is on her smile and her closeness for him.
"I like you, Arnav ji." Her words hit him with a force as she pushed him back a little and ran out to reach others while Arnav stood still as a rod in the room, left alone by everyone but his heartbeat rang in his ears.
I like you, Arnav ji.
I like you, Arnav ji.
I like you, Arnav ji.
Words rang in his head while he turned to look at the girl in pink running away from him. She smilingly touched her nose and turned to smile at him.
Arnav ran a hand over his already messed hairs and let his gaze wander a little far. His thoughts and eyes were on the same person who shocked the daylights out of him.
He wanted to shout and jump and maintaining his composure sure took a lot of energy. He smiled and promised a revenge on the person who made him so unstable that his steps had a jump if looked carefully.
Even his lips were tilted causing his always expressionless and stoic face to look a little too handsome.
He felt a little handsome today, though...
