The team, minus Robin, were standing outside of the Wayne Manor. Batman tasked them to watch over Bruce Wayne's son, Richard, while he was gone for the week on a business trip. With bags in their hands, the team walked up to the big double doors of the Manor. Before Kaldur could knock, it swung open, revealing Bruce Wayne in his suit with a charming smile.
"Welcome team! Thank you so much for watching my son while I'm gone!" Bruce exclaimed. Alfred was next to him with his bags in hand. Behind them, Bruce's limo pulled up, waiting for the man to get in. Alfred went to put Bruce's bag in the car while he talked to the team.
"If you need anything, feel free to ask my faithful butler, Alfred! He'll be happy to help." Bruce said pointing to Alfred who was walking back next to Bruce. Alfred gave the team a kind smile, agreeing to Bruce's statement.
"I advise you to only use a soft and low voice when talking to Richard, he likes to be called Dick more and he's a little jumpy..." The last part was said a little quieter than the rest. Kaldur smiled at the man.
"We are glad to be able to help, I'm sure he will not be too difficult to watch. We hope you will have a safe trip." Just then Bruce's phone in his pocket rang. He picked it up and mouthed 'Sorry' to the team. Kaldur smiled and waved it off. Bruce walked to the car while talking to the person on the other side. As the limo drove off, Alfred lead everyone inside the mansion. He took them to their rooms and told them that Dick was in the movie theater. They all quickly dropped their stuff in their rooms and met back in the hallway of the second floor.
"Let us find Dick in the movie room." Kaldur said, pointing to an area on the map of the manor that was provided in each of their rooms. Wally, M'gann and Artemis were beyond astonished by the size of the mansion. As they reached the movie room, Dick had been just sitting in a pile of blankets and pillows. If it weren't for Conner's x-day vision, they wouldn't have even spotted him. M'gann slowly floated to the mountain of pillows and blankets.
"Dick?" M'gann said in her soft voice, though Dick was startled and jumped from the pile into one of the bars on the ceiling. Just then had they realized that the whole mansion was filled with bars and ropes attached to the ceilings, no doubt for Dick. Dick crouched on one of the bars, holding the left side, looking down upon the team shaking. He wore white shorts with a blue thick stripe on the sides and a white tee shirt. Though Dick knew them as Robin, everything still startled him when he wasn't in the suit. The suit gave him his confidence, without it, he was just a broken scared boy. Only Bruce and Alfred knew of what he went through in the detention center before Bruce adopted him. As you guessed it, it was nothing good. Dick's sudden jump scared the team thinking that the boy might get hurt up there. They had all heard Bruce say that Dick was a little jumpy, no one had expected this. Maybe this mission wasn't going to be as easy as they thought. They had noticed the trembling from the boy. Looking to each other with uncertainty as they all thought. 'Why was he so scared?' M'gann then gasped thinking she found out the reason why. She then turned her skin a different color to make her look more human. In all honesty, Dick wasn't afraid that M'gann had green skin, it was something completely different.
"Umm, Dick? Why don't you come don't from there?" M'gann asked softly, floating very slowly to him. Dick let out a quiet whimper only Conner could hear. Dick thought it through. Would they really hurt him? They were his team, they were heroes. Surely they wouldn't, maybe I'll just stay close to M'gann in case... Dick thought. He nodded slowly to M'gann who got a little closer and held her hands out to the boy with a smile, relieved that he agreed. Dick reached out hands to M'gann, allowing her to pick him up. To her surprise he was a lot smaller and lighter than she thought. Dick wrapped his arms around M'gann's neck and kept his head down on his shoulder to not look at the other heroes. As M'gann landed with the little bird in her arms safely, the team let out the breath they didn't know they were holding. M'gann had to be honest, Dick was just so adorable it made her gush. The way he wrapped his arm around her neck and how small he was! It was just too adorable!
