Daichi's POV
I smiled slightly, poor Suga had already fallen asleep. He was trying so hard to stay awake until that little girl would be dropped off since, well, he was her foster parent. But I promised him that I would stay awake and make sure she got home safely. Once I heard a knock, I quietly got out of the bed and quickly pulled my clothes on and went downstairs. I opened the door, a man tilting his head as the girl smiled up at me.
"Hey, is uh, is Suga here?"
"He's asleep. I'm his boyfriend."
"Oh, well, here's your child back. Now have a good night." He said with a smile as I picked up the little girl and hugged her. I thanked the man, watching him double checking his own kid who had rather bright orange hair was buckled in. Must be Hinata. I shut the door and locked it, taking the girl upstairs and getting her ready for bed. I read her a story before tucking her in, giving her cheek a kiss when she fell asleep.
I was pretty tired myself, especially after my evening with Suga. I also promised him I'd stay tonight after he fell asleep. It would be fine, I had an extra uniform at work I could change into tomorrow. I went back into the bedroom, yawning and taking my clothes back off and just climbing back into bed in nothing but my boxers. Suga giving off cute little mumbles in his sleep before scooting closer and latching onto me.
Gee, he didn't have to be so adorable after doing such things an hour before. I cuddled up to Suga, rubbing my hand along his back gently while he slept. I gave his forehead a kiss before I drifted off too.
The next morning
Hm? Where was Suga. I yawned, my eyes still closed as I patted around on the bed. The spot next to me was empty and the blanket was cozily covering me. I frowned slightly and opened my eyes, just wanting to go back to sleep and cuddle with Suga before smelling food. Ahh, he must be downstairs and awake already.
I dragged myself out of bed and at least put pants on, but I was to lazy to put my shirt on yet so I just wandered downstairs like this. Once in the kitchen, I saw Suga standing at the stove cooking. Humming something to himself. I grinned, sneaking up behind him but this time carefully wrapping my arms around him. Suga gasped in surprise but soon giggled and leaned into my chest when he realized it was just me.
"Morning sleepy head."
"Morning baby. How're you feeling this morning?"
"Well thanks to you, my back and bottom are kinda sore." He said with a smile, making me grin in almost some pride. I kissed the back of his neck before letting him continue cooking.
"Would you mind getting the kid up? She has to eat before school." Suga asked to which I gladly nodded. I made my way up the stairs and into the girl's room, gently kneeling and shaking her shoulder. She tucked the blanket over her head in protest, making me smile and pull the blanket off of her. She pouted at me but sat up and yawned, reaching her arms out to me. I chuckled slightly, picking her up and fixing her hair a bit with my other hand.
"Where's dad?" She asked tiredly. I stared at her a little bit surprised before telling her that Suga was downstairs making breakfast. She nodded as I carried her downstairs, still rather surprised she just referred to Suga as her dad. Suga smiled at us and set some food down. Once the girl was eating, I pulled Suga aside and spoke to him quietly.
"She just called you 'dad'.."
"What, when??"
"Upstairs. When I woke her up, she asked me 'where's dad?'" Suga looked at me equally surprised, both of us looking to the little girl who was busy eating and making a mess. When I glanced back at Suga, he had a soft smile on his face. I wonder if he liked the idea of being a dad.
"Well... it's alright I suppose. It's better than making her call me "mister" or by my name or something like a lot of other foster parents want to be called." He said, walking over to the table to help the girl clean up the mess she was making of the whipped cream and syrup.
Time skip to after breakfast: Sugawara's POV
"Bye baby, I'll see you later okay?" Daichi said, kissing my cheek goodbye as we parted ways. I watched him walk towards the police station while I went and got all the kids in my class and on to my school. Walking into the school building, I tilted my head to see Takeda talking shyly with Ukai. I grinned at the two of them before just minding my own business and heading to my class.
Today's lessons were kinda boring. A lot of talk about how the weather was getting colder and proper ways to dress. But in a few weeks would be much more fun. The kids would get to make decorations and ornaments for Christmas. And I'd get a bit of a break for Christmas break. Speaking of.. I had to get my place decorated or something, can't be totally bare, right?
While the kids were at recess, I was quietly watching the kids play and chase each other around when Takeda rushed over, telling his group to be careful. He sat down with me as his class of kids scattered around.
"Sorry I was late, I got busy with something."
"Mm, something or someone?"
"...some.. one." He said with a blush, pushing his glasses up. I laughed, deciding not to tease to much further since I wasn't cruel, normally. It was easy to tell he liked the new gym coach, and I thought they were cute together.
Once the school day was done and I was back home, I made sure that the little girl was changed and got a snack. She wandered around a bit bored, carrying the toy crow that Daichi had given her a while back. I picked her up, smiling as I asked.
"Do you want to come look at Christmas trees with me?"
