Chapter 29

Sugawara's POV

Finally, done for the night. I turned off my computer, putting it away along with the mess of papers and pens on my desk. I was about to go to bed before tilting my head. I must've been so busy with filling out all those papers that I never even noticed Daichi hadn't returned yet. Maybe he was still just reading to Honey. 

I got up and went to her room, peaking inside with a smile. Oh, that's why he hasn't come back yet.. As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted to the sight of the two fast asleep. Daichi looked like a giant on that little bed with Honey. Daichi was half sitting up, the book he was reading her opened and laying flat on his stomach. Honey snuggled up into his side with her head on his chest as a pillow asleep. Both of their mouths slightly open as they slept. 

I couldn't help but take a picture before taking the book and putting it away. Carefully pressing loving kisses against Daichi's face till he woke up.

"...Mm, what're you doing...?"

"Saving you from a horrible neck ache in the morning.. Come on you can't sleep sitting up."

"What about Honey."

"Come on, we'll take her to bed with us." I said, taking our little one and moving her head to rest against my shoulder. Luckily she didn't wake up while Daichi stood up. Following me back to our room. Daichi flopped back down, opening his arms so I and Honey could cuddle up to him. I laid down, Daichi wrapping his arms around both of us before going back to sleep. I laughed quietly, shaking my head and soon falling asleep as well. 

The next morning

When I woke up, I tiredly glanced around. Where was Honey?? I sat up slowly, looking around. For that matter, where was Daichi? I quickly got up, making my downstairs to check for the two. Finally, I ended up finding them in Honey's room.

"What on earth are you doing?" I asked with a laugh, walking over and sitting on the floor where the two were. Daichi was lying on his stomach, his shirt lifted up and Honey sitting next to him. Actually drawing on him with her markers.

"...She said I'd look better with a rainbow on my back." Daichi mumbled, making me laugh again. I watched as Honey colored, that was surely gonna be there a few days..

"I see, well I have to agree. Especially when the artist is this good." I said, making Honey smile and hand me a marker. I thanked her and decided to draw on Daichi as well. Hopefully his coworkers didn't see him like this or he'd surely never live it down at the police station. 

"This stuff is washable right?"

"Nope, permanent marker."

"What-!"

"I'm kidding I'm kidding! Yes it's her washable markers, Daichi. I hope you have a private room to change in at work."

"Yeah I do, thankfully."

"How have things been at work anyway?"

"It's been fine, quiet now but sometimes thats good."

"How is Tsukishima doing?"

"He's doing good. He's getting really good at filing. The kid is actually pretty smart, he figured out a lot of things without needing to be told."

"Has he talked about Yamaguchi?"

"Some. He said that Yamaguchi is doing better on that medicine that doctor prescribed for him. They seem quite happy." Daichi said, making me nod with a smile. That was good, hopefully they are doing much better then when I first found them. 

"Speaking of.. you ever find Asahi's ring? For Noya?"

"Unfortunately not. I told Asahi and explained it to him. He was upset but understood. I made Tsukishima pay for part of a replacement ring from his check." I nodded, Honey saying she was finished. I laughed, taking a photo of his back for Daichi while he sat up and pulled his shirt back down. He looked at the picture, smiling and rolling his eyes but picking Honey up and thanking her.

"Well.. that's the most, colorful tattoo anyone has ever given me. Thank you." He said, Honey holding onto him until he set her down to go clean up her markers. I watched her take her markers and neatly put them away. I'm glad that someone else in this house is good at cleaning up after themselves. 

Daichi's POV

Suga asked me to follow him after we made sure Honey had something to do for entertainment. We went back into our room, Suga pulling up some of the papers on his computer.

"What is it?"

"Well, Honey's actual birth certificate was lost a long time ago. So we have this one that they sent me from records. Look, her name."

"Huh... wonder why she never told us her actual name before?"

"I don't know. Maybe she didn't even know?? She is little, but, that's no reason she wouldn't learn it if she was addressed by it." Suga said with a shrug. We both called Honey in here, Suga pulling her up onto his lap and showing her his computer screen.

"Hey sweetheart, did you know.. that that's your name??"

"uh huh."

"Oh. Why did you never tell us?"

"I dunno."

"Well, Daichi and I want you to like your name. And we're allowed to change it for you. Do you want us to change it?"

"I dunno." She said again, making me and Suga sigh. She was little and probably didn't care, or fully understand. I crouched down, pointing to the screen again.

"Well, do you want to be called this instead?" I asked, to which she just stared at it and shrugged. Nodding her head. Suga and I smiled faintly, setting her down and letting her climb onto our bed. Suga worked a bit on his computer while I walked over to her, sitting next to her and kissing her forehead.

"Alright then, Yachi."
