"Hurry Up! We have to leave, now!" Said Maia, my mother as we locked the basement doors
"But the machine is not tested yet. We have no idea if it will work." I exclaimed.
"Time is not on our hands. The FORCE will be here any minute." Maia said as an explosion was heard from above. "They are here now! There won't be time for both of us. You must go alone!"
"What?! I'm not leaving you, Mom. Ther-" I argue until she cuts me off. "You know the mission. You understand what must be done to save our present so that we have a future. Goodbye, my lovely child." As she puts me into the time machine. "Now save all of us!"
The time machine starts. It accelerates until I am surrounded by a ball of white light. I press the location and time as the light gets brighter and brighter. Then it stops. I open my eyes. There it is. I've only read about it. I never believed something so beautiful could have ever existed. It was a sky. And not one of those artificial Skys back in my my time that people could only use for 5 minutes at a time. I remove my mask. I breathe in. I breathe out. Air. Real air. Beautiful. "Now time to get to work" I say.
