Love can physically break your heart. Intense, traumatizing events, such as a break-up, divorce, loss of a loved one, or betrayal can cause the heart to suffer through real, physical pains.

Jimin was familiar with being calculative and observant. Rushing a deadline while running off of mere hours of sleep was a common occurrence and naturally part of his job. The scrutiny of his efforts and skills was hardly foreign, and while he hardly performed poorly, he was somehow never good enough.
That's how he felt waking up in Yoongi's arms. The performance Yoongi was pulling off was astounding; really, Jimin should be pleased. His notes were as thorough as Yoongi's poker face and his writing as honest as the way he was feeling. Overthinking wasn't an option as boundaries had been set before the week away, and Jimin was not about to risk his professional career over something as nieve as hope.
It was as if all of his learned traits that made him a talented writer had to be forgotten to persevere through the week.
"It's early." Yoongi's soft voice floated behind Jimin as if he were dreaming.
Jimin stared at his laptop screen, eyes unmoving from the article he had begun to write. "Couldn't sleep," he admitted.
"I've watched you rewrite that sentence six times now."
"It has to be perfect," Jimin murmured as he cut the sentence again. "Something's missing."
"Yes," Yoongi whined, tugging lightly on Jimin's arm. "You're missing next to me in bed." He paused for a moment before excusing, "It's cold."
Jimin felt his heart flip, but the feeling only brought a looming reminder of what he could never have. "It's my first feature article," he stated as if Yoongi had forgotten. "It needs to be perfect."
Writing, research, interviewing; these were tangible things that Jimin knew. Unrequited love and unwanted feelings of desperation were, unfortunately, also familiar. However, Jimin had always gotten positive results from throwing himself into his work; the same thing couldn't be said for the latter.
"It's missing a personal narrative," Yoongi's steady voice broke through Jimin's self-destructive thoughts.
He blinked slowly, his eyes beginning to hurt due to the light of the screen. "What?"
"The writing facets of feature articles are different than news stories." Yoongi leaned down with his hands clasped over the back of Jimin's chair. "It's apparent that you know this by your extensive use of quotes, descriptions, and anecdotes, but your voice is missing."
"I'm using an active voice," Jimin argued. "Passive would give the readers a more informative outlook, so my voice is just fine, thank you."
"I'm going to pretend I know what that means by ignoring it. Look, Jimin..." Yoongi grabbed his hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "You're a strong writer, but looking over your shoulder, the article I'm reading is boring. Yes, it's a well-written story, but it won't captivate your readers. Why are you holding back?"
