Everly Frost's POV

"Well, I think that does it for today, Sweetheart. The trailer is fully loaded and I'd like to get it over to Isaac's before dark tonight."

I smile at my husband, Winston, and nod my agreement before taking a last look around the nearly empty storage unit. Satisified that we have everything we need, I step out of the unit as Winston reaches above my head to pull the sliding metal door back down. The sunlight coming from the skylight in the hallway bounces off the face of Winston's watch when he grips the door and I am momentarily blinded by a golden light coming from the back corner of the unit.

"Winston, wait a second. There's something over there." I say, pointing toward the back of the unit, "Check behind those boxes over there."

"Well what do we have here?" Winston whistles as he turns to look at me, a smile splitting his face from ear-to-ear.

"What is it?" I ask, his smile doing more to intrigue me than anything.

"You're going to want to come here and see this for yourself!"

Stepping back into the unit, I can't help the butterflies that begin stretching their wings in my belly, even if I have no idea what it is that woke them up. Moving closer to my husband I let my eyes adjust to the dim light and suck in a breath when I see the chest in the corner.

"Wow! How on earth did we miss this?" I mumble more to myself than my husband

"Wow! How on earth did we miss this?" I mumble more to myself than my husband. Still, he shakes his head and responds after another low whistle, "No idea. It's locked though, hopefully the key is in one of the boxes we've already loaded."

"Well if it isn't, Isaac can get into it."

We take a moment to admire the chest, it really is an extraordinary piece, even in its current state. As my mind starts throwing about different possibilities as to how it could have ended up here, my husband asks the question I have been waiting for him to ask since we saw it.

"If you had to guess, right now, what would you say?" He asks with that curiously excited smile I've grown to love so much.

"Early 1500's. Spanish." I say without hesitation.
