just so we're clear..
when in college, you make your own schedule. freshmen usually have a chance to create their schedule at orientation, but im not sure if every school works like this.

you pick the class, time, and professor that you want.

Class

it is YOUR responsibility that your classes are aligned with your degree.

DO NOT TAKE CLASSES THAT ARE NOT NECESSARY FOR YOUR DEGREE. CLASSES COST MONEY!

financial aid, scholarships, or a grant will not pay for a class that isn't apart of your degree's program.

you can check which classes you need to take on a website called Degreeworks. when you become enrolled, you'll be given a student email and password which you'll use to access Degreeworks.

a lot of highschool students take 7 classes a day..

in college, you only need to be registered for 5 in order to be counted as a full time student. the maximum is usually 6.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MORE CLASSES THAN YOU CAN ACTUALLY HANDLE.

yes, it is possible to not have classes on Fridays which means...

THREE DAY WEEKENDSSSSS

when you sign up for classes that are an 1 hour and 15 minutes, you'll only go twice a week (all Tues/Thurs classes will be 1 hour and 15 minutes; there are some 1 hour and 15 minute classes on Mon/Wed but not many)

yes there are options for 50 minute classes, but you'll usually have to meet up 3 times a week (Mon, Wed, Friday).

yes there are Saturday classes, but idk why anyone would want them.

in order to get your Fridays off, try finding hybrid classes that land on Mondays and Wednesdays, then regular classes that are on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

hybrid classes are courses that are held both on campus and online. the usually format is to have lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays then have an online assignment posted on Friday due that Sunday.

Time

before you register for that 8am class, ask yourself this.

in highschool, did you get yourself up without parental aid? did you have the discipline to prepare for class the night before? were you on time for your 8am class? if your highschool gave you the chance for your first class to start at 8am or 9:30am, would you pick 8am?

if you answered no for anyone those questions, you don't need to be registering for an 8am. just because your highschool classes started at 8am doesn't mean your college courses need to as well. save yourself the trouble (and possible letter grade drop) and pick a different time.

also, don't register for evening classes just because you're not a morning person. you're most likely not an evening person either.

also try not to put too much of a gap between your courses. the worst case scenario is having too much break time to relax and unwind now you don't feel like going to your next class.

the best option (in my opinion) is to have your classes consecutively like in highschool. this way, you won't waste gas and energy going back and forth from the dorm to campus.

Professors

PLEASE CREATE A RATE MY PROFESSOR ACCOUNT BEFORE YOU REGISTER FOR CLASSES!!!!

Professors obviously have rules and regulations they need to follow, but how a professor runs their classroom is mainly up to them.

There are some professors who are cool as shit with little to no work whatsoever.

There are some professors who have a decent amount of work and will gladly help you with whatever you need.

Then there's professors that will close the door in your face for being a minute late.

You need to know which professors you're getting. Don't just pick blindly, actually do research and ask questions about these people before registering for their classes.

ANOTHER DISCLAIMER PERTAINING TO THE COLLEGE QUESTIONS:
I can't/won't answer questions about Greek life. That's a process you'll have to go through on your own.
