Autumn sighed as she tried on the dress. It was light blue, which reminded her of winter, and it's chiffon fabric fit her frame perfectly.
This, all in all, was a weird sight. Autumn was wearing a dress. Ever since she was very small she never had much interest in dresses. Although today was different.
Autumn looked into the mirror, turning from side to side, her hands on her waist. She turned to look at the back, where a ribbon on the dress was placed. She smiled and turned away from the mirror, picking up her Chuck Taylor's. She had to add her own style to the dress, although it did look out of place and unordinary.
Why was she wearing this dress in the first place?
Well, she was going to the cliff and that meant that maybe Ashton would be there. Autumn had just started to accept her feelings for Ashton and she wanted to impress him.
Stupid, she knows, but Autumn felt as if she could do as she pleases. Which is true by all means.
Autumn pulls on her shoes and grabs her bag from the hook on her door. She then proceeds to walk outside, completely forgetting her jacket.
Her hair blows in the wind and she notices the dark clouds in the sky. She keeps walking, deciding that it would rain later tonight.
But, Autumn is no weatherman, and a single raindrop fell on her head. She looks up and the rain begins falling rapidly. She lets out an angry screech and turns around, already half way to the cliff.
She begins walking towards her house, angry that her favorite dress was being poured on. She teeters on, holding her bag above her head.
She then spots a small red car following slowly behind her. She walks faster, trying to ignore the car but her heart keeps pumping faster at the sound of the engine behind her.
And now, beside her.
She stops when she hears the window roll down and a strong Australian accent yell,"Are you crazy! Hop in!"
She laughs at her paranoia and steps into the road and to the passengers side. She quickly jumps in, slamming the door.
"Aye, don't break the door!" Ashton laughs, and Autumn joins.
Autumn shivers, rubbing her arms.
"Need the heat up?" He asks and she nods quickly.
"You didn't see the clouds? Or you did and decided to be stupid?" Ashton asks, tilting his head towards her.
"I saw them. I didn't think it would rain until later." She explains, still clutching her bag.
"Sure. Sure. So, where to, madam?"
"Um, I didn't know we were going anywhere." She says.
"I was planning on meeting you at the cliff and taking you somewhere, anyways. It's not like I can call you without your phone number." Ashton explains, taking one hand off the wheel to gesture to her.
"Oh, well did you see the clouds? Or are you just stupid?" She mocks.
Ashton laughs,"I just thought you were stupid enough to go out in this weather."
Autumn shakes her head but smiles anyways.
"Movie at my place?" He asks.
"Sure. No sappy movies, though." She laughs awkwardly, but Ashton laughed along even though what she had said was not funny at all.
Soon, they pulled up to his house. Small, but big enough for Ashton.
Autumn begins to climb out, not waiting for Ashton to open her door. They walk up to the door, and he lets her in.
"Well, it's not much, but ya know." Ashton laughs, scratching the back of his neck.
"It's neat, I guess. For a guy's house at least." She jokes, looking at the pictures on the walls. She spots one of him and a younger girl and boy.
"Is this your brother and sister?" She asks.
"Um, yeah. Yeah, they w-where." He says dreadfully.
"Sorry, you don't have to talk about it. I-I didn't know. I'm so sorry." Autumn rushes out.
"Autumn, you don't have to apologize. It's ok." Ashton smiles sadly, before walking into the living room.
"So, what movie?" He changes the subject.
"Hm...What movies do you have?" She asks, standing behind the couch.
"Anything Netflix has." Ashton laughs, turning on the tv.
"The Breakfast Club, then. Best movie ever." Autumn says in an attempt to lighten up the mood.
"Sounds good." Ashton smiles, "Lets go get some pillows and blankets."
Autumn nods, following him into his bedroom. He opens his closet and pulls out two blankets. Then he goes to his bed, handing Autumn two pillows.
"Do you need something to change into? You look a little...damp, there." He says, chuckling.
Autumn nods quickly. It wouldn't be that comfortable wearing a dress all night. He goes back the the closet, pulling out a pair of sweatpants and a, mostly holy, band tee. Autumn takes it and goes back into the living room, throwing the pillows on the couch. She then goes to the bathroom after asking where it was.
She comes out of the bathroom, the shirt and sweatpants swallowing her whole. She rolled up the sweatpants twice but still no luck. She hoped the dress made up for how she looks now.
She walks into the living room and Ashton whistles, but Autumn crosses her arms and pouts. He laughs, throwing a pillow at her. Luckily, she catches it and plops down beside him on the couch.
"Just in time." Ashton says, pressing play.
Autumn sings along to the David Bowie song in the beginning and Ashton joins.
"I've seen this a million times." Ashton snorts.
"Me too! It's still the best." Autumn presses.
Ashton nods, getting into the movie.
/////////////////////////////////////
About halfway into the movie, Ashton lays his head down on Autumns lap, yawning.
"I'm so tired. Do you have to get home? Because I'm bound to fall asleep at any moment." He taunts playfully.
"I guess I'll crash here. I get the couch, so get going." Autumn laughs.
"You can have my bed, tonight. I'm too lazy to get up." Ashton whines.
"But me too." She yawns.
"Fine, then I guess we will both crash on the couch." He says, lifting his head up and turning around to where his feet where beside Autumn's legs.
Autumn and Ashton curl up in their covers and fall asleep, without turning the movie off.
