We finally reached. It was a long process, my mum had to tell the alpha that I was no longer a part of the shadow pack and I was moving away. She didn't tell him where I was going, or why I was going, just that I wanted a change of scenery. He happily obliged, glad to get rid of me, he wouldn't want the girl of his mates ex boyfriend walking around his pack. That's right my mother's mate is my ex alpha. So I broke the link I had with the pack and left with my mum.I easily escaped, happy yet sad about leaving. I just hope that the future laid out for me is a great one.
"Were here" My mum tells me tearing up.
"I know, I'm gonna miss you mum" I reply a sad smile on my face
"Of course you are, I'm your mum" She says to me trying to lighten up the mood
I hug her tightly and we get out the car, a comfortable silence settling in between us.
I hear my mum gasp, and turn to look at what shes surprised to see, and there I see grandma.
She looked so young for a 60 year old woman, thanks to being a werewolf, we age really slowly. She had short blonde hair with the same coloured eyes as me. She was tall and looked very healthy.
My mum ran up to her and threw her arms around her she whispered something in her ear, before coming up to me and kissing my cheek.
"Be careful darling, remember I always will and always have loved you, I have to go now take care" She says quietly before walking back to her car, waving good bye, I watch her drive away, my eyes welling up with tears. I stood there for a long time, just staring, my thoughts all over the place.
It was probably the last time I would ever see her.
I sigh deeply before grabbing my suitcases and and turning back to my grandmother. She has a warm smile on her face as she walks towards me her arms out stretched.
"Give me some sugar" She yells
I stand there dumb founded watching my 60 year old grandma run towards me like a 5 year old child would.
I finally realise that shes hugging me and I quickly hug her back, breathing in her sweet vanilla scent.
"Its been forever since I last saw you Aurora, my my haven't you grown into a beautiful young woman" She says happily.
"Thank you grandma" I reply back a small smile on my face.
"Do you like the house?" She asks me
I look around and take in my surroundings, I look at the two storey house and like it instantly, it was big and looked cosy.
I see that the house is surrounded by forest, and I feel my wolf jump about, definitely excited about the fact that she has a large running space, its been a while since I ran in wolf form.
"Yes, I love it"
"Great, now come one dear lets get you settled in"
She grabs one of my suitcases while I take the other and we walk into my new home.
The moment I walk in, I am greeted by the delicious smell of brownies and automatically my belly starts to rumble. My grandmother starts laughing and says "Go on upstairs, your room is the one at the end on the left, when you come down your food will be ready".
I smile at her and run up to my room, suitcases in hand.
My rooms was big, much bigger than the one I had before. The walls were painted a deep blue and there was a large bed in the corner. I walked towards the closet and gasped when I saw it was a walk in closet, I've always wanted one.
My belly rumbled once more urging me to go eat, so I gave my room one last look before leaving my suitcases and running back down stairs.
When I enter the kitchen my food is laid out for me on the dining table, my grandma is seated on the other side her food in front of her, she was waiting for me to start eating.
"Yo gran daughter" She says a smile on her face
"No gran don't ever say that, please" I reply cringing.
She just chuckled and started eating her food. I moan in delight as I devour my macaroni and cheese, when I finish it, I gobble down the delicious brownies my gran made and smile happily when I feel full. Food is life.
"Come with me Aurora, I need to show you something" My gran beckons me to her as she puts the dishes in the dish washer.
She leads me downstairs to the basement, and I instantly love it, it wasn't like the basements you'd see on a horror film, this one was surrounded by fairy lights and the lighting in the room was very dim, there were some comfy sofas and a small coffee table in the middle. There were about 5 book shelves stacked with books. I step off the stair and my sock less feet sink into the plush, white fluffy carpet, damn I think I would live in this basement.
I follow my grandma as I look around awestruck, drinking in everything I saw, from the photos hanging on the wall of my grandma and her were wolf husband who passed away last year, she looked so happy, while he looked sad.
"That was when he found out who his mate really was, he moved away with her the next day" She told me a sad smile on her face.
I put my arm around her and she turned to smile at me.
She took me to one particular shelf in the corner of the room and picked out three books. She handed them to me and I looked at the titles.
Book of spells
Controlling the power of the elements
Book of shadows
They sound interesting. I go and sit down on one of the comfy chairs and open the first book, Book of shadows. The first page had this rhyme written on it I started reciting it.
This enchanted book is mine,
every letter every line,
each word and image that you see,
was passed from teacher on to me,
Take care when you recite this spell,
For peril lurks where the elders dwell.
