"Avery, I'm home" I call up the stairs expecting my sister to give her average snarky response. But when no one responds, I assumed no one was home.

As I'm walking to the kitchen i hear a loud thud for upstairs. I sprint up stairs and search each room, then I reached Avery's room, there she was. In front of my eyes my sister was unconscious on her floor. Blood all around her and cuts all up and down her arms. Her eyes were closed. I screamed. I called 911 and I explained what happened. I desperately searched for a pulse. There wasn't a pulse. I was hysterical. They sent an ambulance over and took her to the hospital.

I sat in the waiting room as they tried to resuscitate my sister. She can't be dead. She's a fighter. She can't possibly be dead. The thoughts racing through my head. She's the only family I have left. She's the closet friend I have. It's impossible.

I was in the waiting room for an hour. The doctor walking out of those doors was a pretty young blonde women who couldn't be older then 24. She has the prettiest eyes. But I am too upset to point it out. She had a look of sorrow and grief. She looked me in the eyes and headed over to me.

"Hello, you must be Xander. I'm Dr.Beverley Hampson. Are you a relative to Avery Evans?" The Doctor asked. Her eyes full of sorrow.

"Yes, I'm Xander Evans, her twin brother," I explained. "Is... Is my sister okay?" I asked, stuttering.
My question seemed to pain her.

"Xander-" I interrupted her.

"No, my sister isn't dead. It's impossible!" I was almost yelling.

"Xander, please calm down. We tried everything possible. She wasn't responsive to any of our treatments. I'm sorry, there wasn't anything we could of done. She lost too much blood. We are going to perform an autopsy to find if there was another contributor to her death." The doctor was close to tearing up. She was truly upset.

I broke down in tears and started to sob in the middle of the emergency room lobby. I didn't care. All that I cared about or could think about was how I was never going to see my sister again. I was never going to be able to talk to my best friend about school or anything. I was never going to talk to her again.
