"Well, someone took their sweet time." He seethed. "Oh, wow didn't know it was possible for your face to look worse than usual, but here we are!" He said with sarcasm dripping from his voice. He took another step towards me, with an unnerving grin on his face. I stumbled back, all the way until I was backed up against the door, while he kept advancing forward towards me. I slid down the door into an all-too-familiar squatting position, and peeked up at him, slowly walking towards me. "How could anyone learn to love someone like you? Exactly, they can't. So don't bother trying." He said, frequently spraying me with his drunken spit. "No one will ever love you, you hear me?" He shouted, making me whimper.
"I said, do you hear me? Speak, you little rat!" He demanded, spraying me with even more of his repulsive spit.
"Y-yes Sir..." I squeaked out. That was my first time talking in months! My voice came out choked and hoarse, but I managed to reply, somehow...
"Wimp." He muttered, "Now go get me some more beer, you already missed dinner, so be ready for the consequences." My eyes widened at the last part of his sentence. No, no, no! Not again! I usually have to make dinner and serve it, however, I don't get any. Ma'am and Sir refuse to 'waste their food on unworthy people.' People like me. I quickly jumped up and ran out the door, not caring that I was still beaten and bruised. Then I remembered that I left my backpack in first hour! How am I supposed to sneak the beer out now? I thought while frantically running to the store. I got there and ran inside. Another tall person followed behind me into the store. He looked around my age, as he sauntered past to the cashier.
"I saw the 'Now Hiring' sign outside, and wanted to know if I could get an application?" He asked, in an oddly deep voice. I silently cheered, when he distracted the cashier because even if he didn't realize it, he was saving me from a lot of trouble... and pain... I went further into the store, towards the beer section. I grabbed a six-pack, and hid it on my right, as the cashier was on my left when I started walking out. I got all the way to the door when the same deep voice called out. "Are you going to pay for that? What are you hiding?"
