Katherine's POV
The next morning,I felt numb.I had lost my appetite and didn't feel like doing anything.I sat in my pjs as I flicked through the endless HD channels.My makeup was smudged from lastnight due to silent tears that rolled continuously down my pale cheeks.My thoughts and tears were interupped by a knock at my appartment door.
I slowly got up and opened the door.Shock and surprise filled me as I saw my brother,Max,standing there.He encapsulated me in a huge bear hug.I didn't even know how he had flown all the way from China in the time of ten hours.I didn't really care because I was happy.
Max and I hugged for awhile until he told me it would be okay.I believed him until I realised I couldn't handle his company.He had clients in every country and was the richest man in America.On top of that,he was a powerful CEO and really popular in things that didn't even make sense to me.
As Max and me sat on my large créme couch,I continued to flick through channels until it landed on CNN news.Breaking news was obviously my father's death and it just made me want to cry.Looking at Max made me have a mental breakdown once again.His eyes were watering and his jaw was clenched.He struggled to let the words out of his mouth as he said:
"I'm sorry Father,I'm sorry...Please forgive me for being a horrible son and I promise that I'll be strong for Kate and me.I WILL get revenge...I promise."
Max's voice become hoarse as he broke down in tears. He furiously rubbed them away as he got up and punched the wall.I could only watch as I realised I had work to do.I was going to find who had killed my father.
A chilling feeling tiptoed up my back as I narrowed my eyes I had an idea who had killed him...Could it have been Cecilia or my childhood bullies?
Rubbing my tears,I stood and held Max's hand as he cried into my shoulder.I needed to be strong,not just for me but for everyone.Somehow,I was going to manage my dad's company and mine at the same time.
This was it,I was going to show everyone who was boss now!
