It felt like the weekend took forever. So when I woke up on Friday morning the first thing that ran through my mind was all you have to do is make it through today and you will be able to hang out with them tomorrow. My boss hadn’t been exactly happy that I had called out “because of a very sick relative I have to stay with this weekend” But now I had Saturday AND Sunday off. It’s not like the wait has been that bad though. I was texting Louis and Harry on a regular basis, and we went out of our way to see each other during school. But I didn’t have any classes on Fridays and they did. So this was going to be one very long day. It almost pained me to say it, but I was excited for work to give me something to do to pass the time.

Finally Saturday is here. I’m not meeting the guys at the cinema until 6:00 and it’s only 12:00. Six hours to do what? Nothing. Talk about the slowest six hours of my life. I tried to get into an episode of The Walking Dead, but it was a re-run and I had seen every episode over three times. So it felt more like torture to watch my favorite show while I waited for what possibly could be one of the best days of my life. When the wait was finally over my heart almost exploded with anticipation. I almost ran out to my car to find it was storming outside. Was it suppose to rain today? I could hardly see the whole ride there and it wasn’t like I had an umbrella or even a decent rain coat. All I had was my thin jacket and the rain felt like ice. After tonight I think it will be time to pull out my winter coat. When I got to the cinema, the place was already packed and I got one of the worst parks. I ran towards the entrance, but it didn’t stop me from getting soaked. I walked in and looked around for them. I spotted Louis first, leaning against the wall and then I saw Harry beside him. It didn’t take long for them to spot me either and they were headed toward me. Louis’ beaming face reached me first. “You look like a drowned cat.” He laughed. But before I could retaliate he was shrugging off his jacket and handing it to me. I gratefully took it, I had already started shivering. Then Harry was there. He eyed Louis’ jacket on me, but didn’t say anything about it, instead he said, “You still look beautiful for a drowned cat.” I blushed and my heartbeat raced. Did I hear him right? He definitely called me beautiful, so does he like me? Louis didn’t say anything about how I looked, but he did offer me his jacket. Oh to be able to read a boy’s mind. Ew, well maybe not all the time. It took awhile before I realized I hadn’t responded and I was just grinning like an idiot. “Thanks Harry. I should probably go buy my ticket, or we’ll be late.” I had started to walk away but Louis stopped me, “We already bought it. The line was getting long, besides, we didn’t want you to pay for it.” I looked between the two of them. Louis with his sweet smile on his face and Harry standing a little further back with his smirk on his face, but his eyes bright. “I’ll pay you guys back.” Instead of responding they just ignored me, which told me I probably wouldn’t be able to get them to take it if I begged.

We had taken our seat in the top row directly in the middle. It was my favorite place to sit in the movies and I was happy when we walked in and nobody was sitting there. I wasn’t exactly sure what this movie was about, except that it was some type of action movie. When the lights dimmed and the movie started I glanced at Harry and Louis on each side of me. Harry was angled to where he sat with our shoulders almost touching and Louis was just slouched in his seat with his arm touching mine on the armrest we shared. Maybe I should invest in a body language class. There suppose to be able to tell you if a guy likes you, right? I am going to drive myself crazy during this movie. I just have to stop and take a deep breath. I was able to keep a cool on my hormones until Louis carelessly threw his arm around my seat, gently touching the tops of my shoulders. It was almost a normal gesture for him, because he did it whenever we sit beside each other, and I’ve even seen him do it when he was sitting beside Harry. It was just different in this darkened movie theater, it made it seem more intimate. Harry got up to get some more popcorn and Louis’ thumb started making small circles on the back of my shoulder that caused a shiver to go down my spine, but this was Louis. He acts like this with everybody. When Harry came back he made no reaction to Louis, almost like it was normal to him, too. So I’m not crazy. Harry handed me the popcorn since I was in the middle. I pulled my legs up to where they crossed and laid the popcorn in my lap. I wasn’t that interested in it, so I didn’t eat any. When I finally started getting into the movie again, I felt something touching my pinky. I looked over at my hand that laid on the armrest and saw Harry’s pinky slowly winding around mine. Shocked I looked up at him and he had a small smile on his face, but he wasn’t looking at me. He was looking at our fingers, where he now abandoned my pinky and was playing with my other fingers. Gently lifting them up and bending them. It was all so silly and cute it put a huge smile on my face. When I looked back up at his face he was looking at me with his intense green eyes again. His face was serious again and I felt like I was in a staring contest. Neither of us was looking away and there was no way I was going to look away first. It felt like the world just melted away and it was just us staring at each other, even Louis’ thumb still tracing circles on my shoulder became a part of the distant background. I don’t know how long we’ve been staring at each other now but it felt like years were expanding between us. This meant something, right? Normal people don’t do this. I felt myself leaning closer to him, and my mind running a race to think of something to say or do. It all fell away though when Louis squeezed my shoulder and leaned over us. “What are you guys talking about? You’re missing the ending.” Harry let go of my finger which I hadn’t realized he was still holding and looked back at the screen. I looked back at the movie, too. “Nothing important.” I whispered. Technically we hadn’t been talking at all. Louis looked at me a moment longer and returned his attention to the movie.

When the lights came back on and the screen was showing credits, I had absolutely no idea what I had just watched. My body felt like a live wire. My fingers were tingling from where Harry had played with them, I still felt the ghost of Louis’ arm around me and the fire his circles had made on my shoulder. Most of all though, my heart was beating so fast I was probably on the verge of having it explode. So by now I was pretty sure Harry liked me. He sure acted like it. Sometimes. I was still more than confused about Louis. I mean some of the stuff he does… but no. He does it to everyone. I looked at the both of them, walking me out to my car, the rain drenching their hair and running down their face. Louis asked for my keys and ran ahead of us to unlock the door. Harry didn’t even look at me. Instead he looked down at his feet splashing water. Louis opened the door for me as I reached the car. I got in, not caring that I was probably ruining my seat. “Thanks, this was really fun.” Harry leaned down, his face inches from mine. “Drive safe. I want to hang out with you tomorrow, just us. I’ll text you about it later.” I nodded and blushed. When he leaned back I saw Louis, still holding the door. I knew there was no way he heard us over the rain. He smiled at me and waved. Then shut the door. It wasn’t until I got home and was inside that I realized I still had Louis’ jacket on. I pulled it up to my face and smelt his cologne that survived the rain. I’ll have to throw it in the dryer. I walked into the laundry room and checked the pockets to make sure he didn’t have anything that would get damaged in them. Reaching inside I felt the corner of a piece of paper. I pulled it out, it was a little damp, but it had mostly been shielded from the rain. Unfolding it, which is such an invasion of privacy, I saw my name written a few times. I had a right to know if it was about me, right? As I read it my eyes grew wider and my mouth slowly formed an O shape. Oh my goodness.
