Morning came faster than i hoped, after the yesterday i didn't have any energy for today. I just hope that no one is talking about mine and Malfoy's disagreement, if you could even call it that. I dragged myself out of bed and changed into some clean robes. I checked the time and by now i didn't have enough time to bother eating breakfast but i just had enough time to go check the owlery and see if mum had replied. I ran the brush through my head tugging at knots and i slipped on my trainers. I pushed my hair out of my face and headed out of the common room, the stairs changed just before i reached them. Instead of waiting for them to come back i turned left and walked straight down the corridor and up the spiral stairs. I looked out the frosted window, the tree tops were covered in thick snow layering over the towering trees. The owlery was close and i had time to stop and look out of the window for a while, the sun was out but you could hardly see it through the white of the thick clouds; everything seemed at peace which is not like Hogwarts. 3rd years outside were playing their own game of quittich, Professor McGonagull was already striding her way over to them and probably not to watch the show. I rearranged my robe from falling down my shoulder and turned from the window, i haven't got that long till class and if i don't want to be late then i should get going.

The door was closed when i got there and once i opened it it was empty inside, nobody there apart from a few owls. I looked around to see if Ron's owl had returned with a reply from my mum. Coos and hoots were the only noise breaking the silence between me and the room. No Owl,No letter. I sighed, "I knew i should of waited and found Hedwig" I tickled a grey barn owl on the neck. My watch ticked and i knew i should be getting to class but instead i quickly found some parchment and ink.

Mum

I don't know if you have reviewed my letter from a couple of days ago, i don't expect you to of have after all i did send it with Ron's owl. (Not my smartest decision i know). Christmas is round the corner and i'm hoping to come home to an owl this year. I understand that the last owl i had isn't exactly an owl anymore,BUT! you have to blame Malfoy on that one. Plus i don't have transfigurations with him anymore therefore there will be no similar incidents again. I'm hoping this letter actually gets to you, i will not be using Ron's owl in the future. I have class so i have to stop writing but i'll reply to your letter as soon i get it.

Lots of love

I blew on the ink to dry it faster and folded the parchment up. I looked back at the grey barn owl and smiled " i'm sure no one would even notice if i just quickly borrowed you". I took a piece of red ribbon and wrapped the letter to its leg before giving it a scratch on the head. The owl opened its wings and lifted from its post. I watched it leave the window into the sky. My watch continued to tick, now i needed to go for real. I opened the heavy doors and stepped out down the stairs, charms was at the other side of the school, but i knew Neville would cover for me some way or the other.

Charms was just round the corner and i was only three minutes late, if i'm not any later i'm almost certain i won't get a detention. "Miss Bellamy" a stern voice called from behind me "are you planning on going to a class today" the sentence wasn't a question it was a passive aggressive demand. Unfortunately i knew exactly who it was. "Professor Snape i was just getting to my class i have charms, round the corner" awkwardly i smiled. This man always made me uncomfortable, he scowled down again me. "If i catch you late again it will be detention and 10 points will be taken from Gryffindor" he declared.
"Yes sir" i nodded quickly turning to walk off as fast as i could. "And Bellamy" i turned myself around walking slowly backwards to face him "Make sure you bring your potions homework to my class, or it will be detention during the yule ball" he maintained his dry tone.
"Yes sir" i blurted almost dying to get to class. He span around his robes shooting through the air causing a dramatic amount of wind to blow over to me. I don't think i ever ran as fast in my life. I could not cope with two detentions today, i'm still not sure how i'm even going to get out of my detention with Snape. There is no possible way i could get a weeks worth of work done on my own in one day. For now i pushed this though out of my head. Charms class is what i need to focus on, i walk through the door everyone is sat down staring at me as i enter. "Mr.Flitwick i'm sorry i was late it's just i-" i was sucking up to him so hard to not be given detention until he cut me off. "No need to apologise Miss.Bellamy. Mr.Longbottom has already explained to me, please just take your seat" Flitwick smiled at me, he always had been one of my favourites. Neville beckoned me to the seat next to him, i shuffled my feet over unhooking my bag strap from my shoulder and placing it on the ground next to our desk. He pulled my seat out and i plonked myself down on it "What on earth did you say to Flitwick to get him to be so calm about my tardiness?" i questioned him almost immediately. Neville whispered back to me "Well i kind of told him that you were sending a message to Hagrid from Dumbledore, i mean if he doesn't speak to Dumbledore about it then it will be fine". I grinned at him "Thanks Nev, i can't cope with another strict teacher".
"Why has snape been bugging you again" he responded to me genuinely concerned. "Yea if i don't hand my homework in today then i have detention. during the yule ball" i sighed. Nevilles face scrunched up "Ugh that sounds horrible".
"Tell me about it i have no idea what i'm going to do, i can't miss the ball" i leaned forward in my arm. "Is there anyone in your class, you know, you can ask for help" he brainstormed with me. I had a long hard think about who was in my class, I had Daphne, Blaise and Malfoy. All of which i didn't like very much. "I don't exactly have the best people to ask for help off, i could always ask Blaise" i answered. Neville'a face lit up "see it will be fine i'm sure Blaise will help you out". Neville always refreshed me, being around him put me in such a happy mood, he was one of those friends you knew completely cared about your problems.

"So class today we will be practicing the Enervate spell, if you look underneath your desks you will find a test subject" Flitwick called over the whole class. Everyone automatically looked under their desks. I ducked my head under the desk banging my head on the way down. I looked about and saw nothing, "Sir there's nothing-" i started. Until i brought my head up from below and saw a small frog that looked either in a very deep sleep or completely dead. "No panic should arise students, the frog is only unconscious, that is what we are here for" Flitwick assured the class "now please repeat after me Enervate, En-er-vate". The whole class repeated the spell, after a couple of truer people began picking up their wands and attempting the spell on the frogs. "I haven't got a bloody clue how to do this" Neville laughed, cautiously i picked up my wand. "Well we can give it a try" i beamed. I rose my wand above the wand and give a swish and a flick "Enervate" i whispered. Nothing happened, disappointed i put my wand down and decided to watch Nevilles attempt. Suddenly there was movement from the corner of my eye, a small green blue puffed its chest. I turned my head, the frog jumped up alarmed and hopped off my desk. Frogs began hopping off desks all around the room causing a swarm of green blur around the centre of the floor. People were standing on seats and hiding from the small creatures. Personally they didn't bother me, almost every frog was hopping along the floor. That was exept from Nevilles no matter how many times he swisher and flicked it did nothing. "Now everyone calm down we can sort this out in a second by just ,  Wingardium leviosa" the professor lifted the frogs from the ground and places them inside a large glass case. The class began mumbling and chatting. "Enervate". Neville finally brought the small frog to life, it dazed about for a while and was rather confused but he definitely did it. Neville stood up and cheered himself on causing the whole class to turn around and stare at him. Embarrassed he sat down from his celebration, "I think you did well Neville" i gave him a pat on the back.

Flitwick released us from his class and i made my way to Transfigurations. Only to be told that class was cancelled, instead of transfigurations, we had to learn to dance for the yule ball. After all we did only have until tonight.
