Chapter 6

Edens POV:

In the car on the way home from the store, i heard my phone ding. i picked it up to see a text from my group chat with ellie and peter.

ellie: on my way now! see you's soon.
peter rabbit: coming now too!
eden: see you's in a bit 🤪

i put my phone down and saw that we were home. i put the cheetos on the table with the rest of the snacks and checked over everything one last time before i heard a knock on the door. i opened it to see ellie and peter standing there. i invited them inside.

*time skip* (sorryyyyy)

we were half way through the second movie, and half the snacks were already gone. i was sitting on the sofa in between ellie and peter. we were watching Marvel (of course). i picked up my phone to see a notification from snapchat. someone named Sam had added me. i added him back and saw he had texted me. i opened the text.

Sam: i got kicked out of the store because of you. >:(
Eden: who is this?
Sam: oh lol it's ruel. you blocked me so i made a fake account ;)
*Eden changed name to Ruel*
Eden: trying to text me that badly 😏
Ruel: what no, i just wanted to tell you i am going to get you back for what you did.
Eden: whatever, i'm leaving now, watching Marvel with peter and ellie.
Ruel: peter the new kid? i don't like him
Eden: he's my friend and he's really nice, you just need to get to know him
Ruel: nah, now go watch ur Marvel

why was he texting me? and why did he seem jealous of peter? nah, that's just me overthinking.
"who was that?" i heard peter say.
"ruel" i said blankly. he frowned, then snaked his arm around my waist. i didn't want to move, it would make things awkward, but honestly, this didn't feel right. i checked to see if he was looking, before rolling up my hoodie sleeve to see the distance of my soulmate.
20km.
okay, definitely not peter. i shifted around uncomfortably before peter noticed and moved his arm. he looked hurt, but he wasn't my soulmate, so it's better to reject him now rather than break his heart later on.

let's hope i didn't make things awkward for school on monday.
