I woke up at 5:30 am, because I wanted to finish some extra homework.I finished my homework earlier than I expected so I went to my room to go get ready.I picked out a pair of jeans and a floral patterned blouse.It was 7:30 and Emma doesn't pick me up till 7:45 so I made my way to the living room and sat down on the couch near the door.I saw a beautiful guitar in the corner of the room and I went to pick it up.I started strumming the guitar and hummed a quite, but lovely tune.I stopped for a second and smiled.I started playing again, but this time I wasn't humming.I was singing.
"Here is heart, Here is a heart...I made it for you, so take it.Battered and braised, Grilled and Sautéed.Just how you like it, like it."
I stop playing, because I hear somebody comment something. "Wow" my friend Emma tells me.
"Your amazing Laura!" She exclaims
"Really? The song would sound better on the piano"
"No!That was perfect"she continues
I thank her and walk out my house to her car.I hop in to her car which was a modern car.I remember her picking me up in different car yesterday.I don't feel like talking much so I decide not to comment on it.The car was probably her stepfather's.We get to school and I see Ross getting out of his pickup truck.I have to admit that it wasn't the newest or coolest car, but it was at the top of my list.I loved antique and unique stuff, things that you don't see on a daily basis.
We get out of the car and I walk inside the building and go to my locker.I get my textbook for French and walk with Emma to class.
The rest of the day went by quickly and nothing interesting happened.That was until I got home.Emma drops me off and I unlock the door and walk inside.I make my way to the kitchen and I see my mom feeding my little sister, Melody, some peaches.I greet my mom and say hello to my little sister.I decide to sit down across from my mother and Melody.
"How was school" My mother asks
"It was alright.Nothing interesting"I reply
"Did you see Ross?" My mother questions
"Umm yeah.Why?"
"Because I invited Stormie to come over and bake brownies with me today"
"What? Why?" I say somewhat rude
"Because I'm trying to be neighborly and I would assume that you're going to act the same way tonight" my mother tells me with a disapproving look.
"Okay." I say quietly

I head to my room and finish the little homework that I have and get dressed in sweat pants and an oversized sweater.I put my hair in a messy bun and go downstairs and play with melody in the living room.My mother walks in and watches me and melody playing with her toys, so she decided to give me a break and took melody and put her in her play pen to watch a movie.The doorbell rings and Stormie comes inside with Ross following.
"Hi." Stormie said
"Hi Mrs.Lynch" I say getting up from the couch.
"Oh please call me Stormie." I give her a small hug.
Ross greets my mother and hugs her and comes towards me and simply says "hey laura".
My mother wanted me to become friends with Ross so when my mom went to the kitchen with Stormie I told him to sit at the couch and watch a movie with me.We were watching 'The avengers'.
"You play?" He asks referring to the guitar that lays in the corner of the room.
"Oh yeah.Do you?" I ask
"Yeah.I play all sorts of instruments."
"We have a music room upstairs if you want to check it out" I insist
"Yeah sure" he replies
We go upstairs and enter the music room.We also have a couch and a couple of beanbags in the music room to make it more cozy.He sits down on the piano bench and I come to sit down next to him.I make sure not to sit to close, because I'm not completely comfortable with him yet.
"You can play if you want." I offer with a smile
He grabs the music sheets on top of the black Grand Piano.It was the song I was singing earlier in the morning.
"Did you write this?" He asks as he reads the lyrics
"Yeah, but I haven't finished yet."
"I could help." He suggest
He starts playing the quite and soft tune on the piano.I feel nervous to sing in front of him, but I do it anyway.
"Here is a heart " I begin singing.I see him automatically smile at me singing.
"Here is a heart.I made it for you, so take it"
He starts to sing along with me.
"Battered and Braised, grilled and sautéed.Just how you like it, like it"
We harmonize as we sing and I feel..happy.We sing the next couple verses in sync, then we stop singing and playing the piano.We look at each other and I let out a small laugh.
" I didn't know you could sing" I confess
"I didn't know you could sing either" he spills.
We just look at each other with smiles on our faces.
"We should go downstairs.Our moms are probably finishing up the brownies"
He agrees and we exit the room and go to the kitchen.We sit down at the kitchen table with Stormie, and my mom.We start eating the brownies and my mom starts a conversation.
"What movie did you guys watch?"
"Actually I showed Ross the music room"
"Oh you play music?Laura loves music" my mom asks Ross.
"Yeah I love music.I just don't - well, can't write music" he replies
The visit went by smoothly and it didn't feel awkward like the last time they came over.My mom invited Ross to come over on Saturday to play music.Normally I would be furious with my mother, but after today I actually feel excited to play music with him again...it was fun.Im assuming that my mom wants me to spend more time with him since she arranged for him to come on Saturday.They left and I went to my room and took a long hot shower and went to bed.
