Chapter 9- Messages

"Roman, for the last time, I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
"God, you know you're such a bitch sometimes!!"
"You know if I were you I would've definitely called back by now-"
"I would never do this to you!"
"Patton says you're with Remus! Why're you there?"
"Remus said you went out with Janus!! Why were you out with him??"
"Do you like Janus??"
"I don't care if you do but like- you never told me-"
"It's been an hour Ro are you two fucking?!"
"Roman Wishmore answer me!!"
"Hey, do you remember the name of that show I liked?-"
"Roman, I really am sorry..Listen I know I- HEY!!! I'M ON THE PHONE!!!"
"Did you know Carlos worked at Walmart?.."
"Team Umi Zoomie!! That was the show-"
"Roman it's almost 12!!"
"Please Roman, I'm sorry.."
"Are you and Janus together?.."
"Roman..Please..Ro..."
"Hey Kiddo! It's me, Dad! Just wanted to know where you are! You haven't been answering your phone to anybody..Virgil's getting worried and Janus is saying you went home hours ago..we've checked your dorm five times but you haven't answered..Please Kiddo, just- talk to one of us?..I'll talk to you later..Love you Kiddo! Over and out.."

I heave a sigh as I listen to the last message that was left. I delete all the ones from Virgil and call Patton back, biting my lip anxiously as I walked home
"Roman?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Logan? Why do you have Patton's phone?"
"He left it in the car, we're at the store- where have you been all day? Virgil is, of course, beyond worried and he said he couldn't find you on campus. And though Janus said you were with him over night, you had already left hours prior to Virgil coming to look for you." I chewed gently at the inside of my cheek.
"I spent the night at Remus' dorm and then the next morning I went to Janus' doorm. Remy was out so I stayed for a while before I went to work and work is where I've been for the past couple hours." I explained simply, a large shuffle coming from the other end before I heard Virgil's voice.
"Bullshit!! You've talked to me during work before and I called and texted at least 500 times!!" I rolled my eyes.
"Because I d-" I was cut off again by his voice.
"I bet you were with Janus sucking each other's faces off-" I scoff
"Why does that even matter if we were?" There was a pause
"Because." I raise an eyebrow and roll my eyes again
"Because?"
"Because fuck you, I have my reasons." I pause before scoffing and shaking my head.
"You're such a fucking asshole."
"Ro, wa-" I hang up and put my phone away, unlocking my door before walking inside and flopping onto the couch, slamming the door behind me.
"Fuck today.." I get a call from Patton and heave a sigh, putting my phone on silent and shutting it down before nuzzling a pillow and passing out

I woke up later that day around 11 to a knock on my door. There were only short pauses before the person would knock rapidly again. I groan in frustration as it happens for a fourth time. "What?!" I snap at the person on the other side of the door.
"Roman, please can we talk?.." I groan softly in annoyance.
"Virgil, I swear to the gods-"
"Please Roman I-" I open the door quickly, it almost slamming into the wall behind it but I caught it in one swift movement.
"I don't know if you're just a stubborn shit or you're to thick to understand me but I'm gonna say it loud and clear. I. Don't. Want. To see you!!! You were an asshole and I don't wanna talk to you right now! I'll message you alright? And it's none of your business about what me and Janus do together or why we hang out. It's none of your business and if you really want me to tell you about it? Be a better friend." He stood there, stunned. I had never been that blunt with him in all the years we've known each other. Just as he opened his mouth I slam the door in his face and lock it before going to my room and flopping onto the bed.
