The Worst Thing Happened

"Farkle talk." Riley demanded.

Farkle shook his head and frowned. "No. Ask Maya. It's too personal."

"But she won't talk to me! You have to tell me, Farkle! Tell me!" Riley slapped him across the face making her friends gasp. "Tell me what happened! Please Farkle, tell me!" She cried while smacking him in the chest.

Farkle grabbed her wrists. "No, Riley. Ask Maya. I will not tell you what Maya doesn't want to say. Until she's ready to talk I'm not talking for her." Riley blinked back tears and looked over at Smackle. "Isadora won't talk either. It's not for us for say. Ask her. Ask Maya. Keep asking until she tells you." Farkle gulped and took a deep breath. "Just, prepare yourself Riley, when she does talk it'll be the worst thing she's ever said, but it's true."

Riley looked up at Farkle with large eyes filled with confusion and worry.

Farkle walked away from Riley, took Isadora gently by the hand, then he walked out of Riley's apartment before they could ask anything more.

"Well that was mysterious and only heightened my concern. What about you guys?" Zay asked his friends.

Lucas shook his head. "Something happened to Maya. I knew I shouldn't have left her alone at that ski lodge."

Riley sniffed. "Lucas?"

"I'm gonna find out what happened to Maya, even if I have to beat it out of him." Lucas snapped walking out.

"Um, I better go save Farkle." Zay chuckled following after Lucas.

Riley sighed. "What? What happened? What is going on? I don't understand."

Zay ran out of the building and down the street until he caught up to Lucas. "Lucas! Lucas!" He got in front of him, standing in his way with his hands up to block Lucas. "Lucas! You can't beat up Farkle! I get you're mad but-"

Lucas looked at Zay with a fire in his eyes. "I'm not talking about Farkle. Something happened to Maya and I think Josh caused it, so I'm gonna find out what happened even if I have to beat it out him." Lucas growled.

Zay nodded. "Oh, okay." He put his hands down. "I'm cool with that plan, but what do you think happened."

Lucas huffed. "I don't know, but Farkle said it's the worst thing and the worst thing I can think of is Josh broke Maya's heart." He frowned.

Zay frowned too. "Well, I mean maybe he did, but didn't you also kinda, you know, rejected her and chose Riley."

Lucas shook his head. "No, Maya told me to choose Riley. Anyway she likes Josh, not me, so why does it matter who I chose? I didn't break Maya's heart. I could never hurt her." He snapped at Zay. "Josh hurt her."

Zay sighed. "Okay, then let's go find out what Josh knows about it."

"Fine."
